I have Yi Dash Cam. It is good for the price. But it has some bugs. For example, "urgent recording" button does not record 15 seconds before and after press. It records 15 seconds after press, but before press it is a lottery what you will get. It can go from 2 min and 45 sec down to 1 sec. Because this camera splits files in 3 minute parts, it depend in what part of that video file you press the button.

Here is my footage: www.youtube.com/channel/UCGKkBthxymVMSpbptXR8leQ It is set at 1080p and 30fps. If I set it to 60fps, it lags when playing a video on computer (it could be that my computer can not play 1080p at 60fps videos).... Read more

Not to mention getting caked in grime spat up by vehicles in front in wet weather.

Hi..Thanks for all the advice...he has decided to stick with the devil he knows, and like many have pointed out...don't chance buying someone elses problems, he is going to try and save for something half decent, providing his current banger doesnt go chips in the meantime. Thanks again.

Last week I noticed that bracket at the back of my exhaust was snapped. I took it in to a garage who fitted a new bracket. The next day when going over speed bumps i noticed the exhaust was still scraping over them. I took it back and the man attached a piece to try and lift the exhaust up. Next day same problem with speed bumps. So I went back again and was told that the bracket on the back box was broken and as it had been welded before I would need a new back box. So today I went to get that done and was quite surprised to see that the whole exhaust looks like it has been replaced as I had a chrome tail pipe before. Cam anyone tell me if this is normal practice? It only took him about 10 minutes and when I went today I was expecting it to take a lot longer as I thought it was just the back box that would be replaced. As a female I am concerned I have been ripped off or is this normal? Read more

From my experience of Peugeot 306s, 307s and 308s, the hanger bar is welded onto the back box and there is no clamp type bracket as such which would wrap around the back box.

A couple of years ago my indie told me after my 207SW's MoT test that the rearmost bracket was rusted through. It was a wrap-around one at the rear of the back box. I ordered a new S/S one on the web and fitted it myself the next day. Total cost £15, no welding needed....

Just in case anyone happens to be interested Radio Caroline, who were the UK's first Offshore Radio station back in the sixties, are currently carrying out Test Transmissions for a new service on 648 kHz. They are using a Community Radio Licence which was awarded to them by the UK regulatory authority OFCOM earlier in the year.

Their transmission site is located on the Suffolk coast and the signal is travelling, well, let's just say, far and wide! ... Read more

It was already privatised. The BBC was nationalised, that's the point I was trying to make.

In general Conservatives believe in free enterprise, well they did in those days.

As a hybrid driver I believe this issue does not matter that much now.

Paying for the power on public chargers is almost the same price as putting petrol in.

I only charge at work or home and no longer use the likes of Ecotricity or CYC.

The reduction in government subsidies to buy the vehicles, increased costs to run due to charging for electricity in public areas and diminishing BIK charges for company car users indicates the government feel they have achieved their objectives in this area & are no longer pushing hard to attract new users. If they genuinely want to encourage people to invest in this technology - which is higher priced that ICE cars they need continue to offer financial incentive to buy and use these vehicles.

Its like claiming to have climbed a mountain whilst jogging up the foothills. There is a long way yet to go. Read more

I live in a village with no mains gas, so my electricity supply is on the Economy 7 tariff. I could charge an electric car overnight at the cheap rate, but the high initial cost of these cars is a disincentive and will only fall with mass production.

I am old enough to remember when the first colour televisions cost as much as a new Mini, but high demand soon brought their prices down.

After mentioning on a couple of insurance related posts about how happy i was to deal with a local broker, and the service i got from them, it seems i may well have been well and truly shafted by them!. I happened to be looking at my business account online and checked my direct debits and standing orders, of which there should be three. One for road tax, one for public liability insurance, and the last one for the van insurance. Only what i discovered was that no payment for the van insurance had been taken from the account since March. This means that i have probably been driving with no insurance for possibly 4 or 5 months now without realising!.

So, in an absolute panic, i looked up the broker i used only to find that they appear to have become a different company, which does not do vehicle insurance, it seems to be oil industry related stuff. So i then looked into van insurance, specifically for window cleaners (past experiences suggest most 'normal' insurers stumble when, after answering questions for 20mins, i get to the fact that my van has a 500l water tank in the back, they then say, oh, we can't cover that!).... Hi All,

Which luxury car would it be easiest to remove the chasis from the body?... Read more

Surely the cost of separating and then putting the chassis and body back together would negate a substantial part of the saving. And with modern electrics (sensors) getting it all working together would be a nightmare. Maybe OP should try it with a Herald first!

I didn't really get the urge to display these 'special' registration plates. However each to their own. Jimmy Tarbuck has COM 1 C, which always brings a smile, but most are very tenuous and you need some help figuring them out.

Had a few interesting ones in my early days. 1787 KW was one. Might be worth something now to Kevin White, born 1/7/87!!! But after 1963 a suffix letter was added, then a prefix, then the current system. It did creat a few interesting combinations, but again you had to have most explained, which clearly misses the point of having one....
