Everyone seems to be fooled by the base price but by the time it is specified up it is only a good deal compared with its cousin VAGs Tiguan.

Although most SUVs are bought as 4x2 drive it should not be an excuse to down grade the chassis which is what SEAT have done using a cheaper less effective torsion beam rear suspension. Read more

We liked the one we took on a test drive but they do seem in short supply at the moment and do suffer from the modern scam of 'any colour as long as its blue or white' unless you want to fork out another £550+ for a decent colour. Who started this colour scam and when I wonder? The 3 cylinder engine (what I call lawn-mower engines) seemed willing enough with just us two in but I suspect with a full load on a long journey, you'd want the bigger engine (at a much bigger price of course). It does look great though, unlike so many 'Euro jelly molds' around at the minute. Our search for a new car continues. Byelane Bill

Not surprised at its popularity. I prefer my `66 reg. Fiesta ecoboost 125 to my `65 reg Lexus 300h in all-round drivability! Superb car (likewise my wife`s `16 reg. BMax ecoboost 140). Read more

Yes. It's a great car. I have a Luxury version with a number of extras. The only thing that lets it down is the navigation system. I do not find it easy to use as I am not an every day driver. The thing that drives me nuts is that the speed limit of the road that you are driving on is not shown. You only get that in the professional version for many £££s. David Read more

Hello All

This is my first post, been a keen reader for some time but need some advice. But first some useless background infomation. I used to have a Hyundai Santa Fe; it proved to be too expensive for the new job. A bloke in a white van helped me out with this little fact by writing it off for me.... Read more

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help, i have a Peugeot 306 dturbo and it has been off the road for a few weeks now woth a problem that we cant work out the cause of, the car will start and run for 6sec them cut out, there is power shutting off to the lift pump in the tank so we tried running a constant live but same problem occurred, i have tried blanking off single injectors one by one to see if one is loosing pressure but everything seems fine, a few times we have started the car it has ran for around 40sec to a min without stopping but then after it cuts out its back to just 6 sec
Have had the car on a diagnostic machine and it says fuel pump primary circuit but we cant work out quite what that means, we have also tried new stop solenoid! Any suggestions on what to try?
Thanks Read more

I'd be doing an injector leak back test.

All it would take is one leaking injector an the rail pressure would collapse....

The report states that "NOx emissions were almost halved from 0.639g/km pre-fix to 0.351g/km post-fix"

... surely this is why your vehicle should be adjusted, for the quality of life of all of us with respiratory problems, children & grandchildren....

I had an MOT, headlight needs adjusting I am told so go ahead says I. Phone call later....'adjuster is broken so you need new headlight.' I begin to think maybe mechanic has broken the adjuster. When I pick the car up the reception bloke can tell I'm not convinced, he says 'I suppose you think we did it'. Can't prove anything or I may just be a cynic. I suppose adjusters can break.... but never the less. Read more

Earlier this month, reports emerged that The Car Finance Company, one of the country's biggest lenders to people with poor credit histories, may be in difficulty after six of its directors resigned.

But what you may not know is that your lender also charges you interest on the £8,000 you would have to pay at the end of the deal if you want to own the car outright (the so-called balloon payment).... Read more

An article that's typical of the Mail's style. Conflates more than one issue, confusing and contradictory on the facts and loses objectivity to pander to it's target audience.

The big issue, reported elsewhere too, is that the whole set up depends on end of lease values being accurate. If the bottom falls out of the used car market the lenders will have a massive negative equity issue. That applies to all agreements. Borrowers with A+++ ratings will return cars worth less than the finance for the balloon. Defaults are just the cherry on the top. ...
