I was involved in a minor collision 6 months ago, my fault. My wife and her mother were with me at the time, the other driver was alone. My car was written off and I received payment for its value. That appeared to be the end of the matter. Until today.
My insurers, or rather the underwriters, called to say they have had to reopen the claim as the other driver had claimed for £2000+ for aches and pains (or whatever term was used). They said that they had to set aside £6000 for personal injuries and said that if the full amount was not allocated the other driver would be likely to claim against the whole pot.... Read more

The 3 Estates we tested have been a 1.4 TSi Ambience on 15" wheels and Dunlop tyres. That was by far the noisiest.
The 2nd was a 1.4 TSI Elegance on Bridgestones which tied for road noise with the 3rd, a 2.0 TDi 150 Elegance on a mixture of Conti's and ditchfinders. Both these were DSG cars....
Hi all
I've just had a Thinkware F770 Front/Rear Dash Cam Installed - purchased from RAC shop and installed by Chameleon Codewing.
Went out in the car in the rain today and thought I'd check the quality of the recorded video using the Thinkware PC software.
The overall video quality is very good so I am happy with that but the top two thirds of the front image is above the area covered by my window wipers so that part of the video is obscured by rain drops...
and the rear image is upside down - seems as if the camera was installed the wrong way up.
Also the installer has placed the front camera so close to the Rear View Mirror mount that I can not slide the Dash Cam to the right in order to remove it - the Police in my area have warned locals to do this as there has been a rise in car break in's just to nick the Dash Cam.
My question is - is this normal or has the installer done a poor job?
Thanks all Read more
It always amazes me how lots and lots of businesses who offer installation services have "operatives" (they are NOT engineers) who are not up to the job, so they have to send someone else out to put it right?
Why don't they just delay the job until "the bloke who knows how to do it right" is available?
Wow. A dealership refusing to accept the decision of the Ombudsman, even though they're obliged to ?
I see this getting VERY messy. Read more
Just purchased a GLC 63 S with 21inch wheels. I'm absolutely gutted by the skipping. Its an awful noise, people stare when you're in a car park, I find myself driving too fast or too wide in tight spaces in an effort to avoid the noise. My dealership (Basingstoke) currently have it under consideration but if I dont get any job I'll be onto the Ombudsmen as well.
Can anybody imagine what is going to happen to the second hand car market for 3/4 year old cars ?
on the plus side cars registered prior to 2017 the prices will go up , my road tax makes me laugh my Euro 4, 1.6 car cost as much to tax as 1999 4ltr jeep the only bonus is it does a bit more to the gallon ! Read more
Utterly bizarre! my 5 year old Fiat 500 currently costs nothing to tax but if i trade it in for a new one i will be paying 140 pounds a year. That does not seem like progress to me and is hardly the way to promote the sales of low emission vehicles or to encourage car manufactures to produce them. It smacks of a desperate bid by the government to claw back lost revenue rather than any sort of coherent policy to try to tackle climate change and pollution, why am i not surprised?
It is really wonderful. And is very much useful always. Very much happy to gathering the information on Q & A site. And I got a clear idea of the winter and All-Season Tyres. It is cleared about importance of this. I have interest in mathematical functions. And now I got a clear cut idea about this. Great pleasure that I have acquired some technical version related to the this. And is useful by the experience review that is being written as here. It is really a useful article.

I attempted to send in a question a while ago, wrote "I've always used Michelin but now I have a car with 195/45/17's and Micjelin do not sell tyres in this size - should I fit a compatable size or just not buy Michelin?" in the send questions or comments box and nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?
Do you honestly believe they will spend this on improving the roads?
I don't think they will even spend 50% of it. - Despite their promises. Read more
Put the tax on fuel.
The only fair way and everyone pays.
And what do we get for our money? bad roads full of holes and getting worse.Every pound gathered from VED payments should be spent on the roads. Read more
Politicians or at least government is too influenced by pressure or lobby groups. They appear to be incapable of realising such groups have an axe to grind so the evidence they present is often biased.
Does anyone know when kia started fitting dpfs to the Rio? Would it have been 2009?

Be wary - Hyundai/Kia fitted a Catalyst Particulate Filter (CPF) to some Euro 4 diesels - CPF is just their name for DPF !!!
They started calling them DPFs on the Euro 5 models.

Dear me, will the last honest person to leave the country please turn the lights out, these low life's deserve nothing other then cold darkness and hunger.
I doubt any claim has come in from the third party at all, this sounds like something has crawled out from under it's rock and hopes they can con your passengers into making a claim against you, using the rip of mob on the phone of course, to grab that pot before someone else who doesn't exist does, its a must buy today or quickly sales con, nothing else....
