My radio and Tom Tom froze and the splash screen just stayed on. So I pulled the fuse to reset it and pulled the wrong one. Put it back in and found the right one and it is working again. The only problem now is the ABS and service light has come on. Any ideas and if so any advice. Thanks in advance. Read more
If it does not reset after a short drive,then the only option is to get some diagnostic kit plugged in to clear the fault memory.
My wife wants to take her 28 months old great-niece somewhere, and is going to borrow a proper child seat with which to carry her.
I said that although the proper car seat is a good idea, she could probably use the pull down section in the centre of the rear seat, which has its own seat belt.
Good idea, or forget it, and go with the proper child seat?

Thanks Alan, I guess that I kind of knew that would very likely be the safest bet.
Fiat punto timing belt i woos changing the break pads whaen i put the new ones on the piston had to go more in in resolution sum break fluid spilled so i grabbed a cloth to clean it up it woos big cloth and it got court on in timing belt and spind a round . i turnd the car off kwikle then turn the key ones to get the cloth out and then the car wont start any more .im trying the timing thare is no go at the moment. What on earth makes you think that an engine you can buy for £100 will be any good ?
I'll be honest : it doesn't sound as if you know what you're doing. Avoiding spending money on it (by trying to do it all yourself) might end up being more expensive than paying a proper garage / mechanic to work out the problem and fix it.

The nozzle variation is to prevent diesels being refueled with petrol, which is damaging - and won't prevent petrols being refueled with diesel.
It'll run like a bag of spanners until the fuel tank is drained and refilled with petrol, it should clear any remaining diesel in the system quickly....
I bought a used Mazda 2012 family hatchback with 18k on the clock.
Rang the previous owner for testimonial, who said it was a good car. It had two Mazda services. They had traded it in for a SUV.

Thank you Avant, your advice will be well appreciated by Senior Managment (who by-the-by has 2 replacment knees due to arthritis) was positevly "mad-keen" to purchase a Volvo V70, way back about 1996 after flipping a VW Vento, and only after sliding down the carrigeway on the drivers door side, did she realize it lacked side or curtain airbags, she described the startling slow-motion clarity of watching the bitmac whiz past the point of her nose, as she hung sideways in the seatbelt, the drivers door window being long gone.
This apparently made a bigger impression on her than the seatbelt did on her ribs, at least until she woke up squealing on the 3rd night after the accident....
I have a 2010 vw caddy c20 maxi, a couple of days ago it started bleeping! when I turn the van on to start the engine it bleeps once as it starts??? im guessing it must be a warnng of some kind but can find no trace of this anywhere. Read more
Any visual warning on the dash display?Spanner light flashing?Low battery power?
Nothing on the dash, the bleep is the same as the reversing warning bleep but just one single bleep just as the engine fires. Very strangly it has not done it today?? im wondering if it is something doing something it shouldnt rather than a warning noise?

My 2002 Tino is at 91k miles. Didn't have cash to replace it (I don't do loans) and have just coughed up 800 quid for our local Good Garage to replace the stretched timing chain. Ouch.

Are the petrol Mondeos in this category? If Fords were as reliable as my Nissan has been I'd certainly consider them.

Sorry OP - Agree with others. Best option is get a tradine that gives min £1000 for having an MOT. Purchase a new basic car or 3 years old car with 6-12months warranty
