My focus is driving me nuts. Its got somewhat intermittant (or varying severity) stutter or hestitation at the lower end of the rev range, more so when cold. Its mainly noticable with very light throttle, such as when creeping in heavy traffic, i cant really feel it at full throttle. It doesnt seem to do it at low revs if its in a high gear and I boot it.
Ive done the usual, replaced the leads, plugs and coil, there is no water in the plug wells. Ive swapped out the throttle body, MAF sensor and injectors for known good units (thanks to a patient friend) and even had the PCM updated to the latest software and reset the adaptations, but nothing has helped.... Hi Chris!
I have the same problem, could you tell me what was the solution for you?...
Hi guys,
some advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to buy a second hand car, money a bit tight, with a max budget of £7000. I would like one that is reliable, due the mileage I can clock up, I suppose I average about 14,000 miles a year.... Read more
So you're basically saying, for ANY car, if its regularly serviced, nothing EVER should go wrong. Hmm. Perhaps you should read the reviews of the cars you own on this website, and you'll see they have inherrant faults, some of which you may have not noticed because they might've gone wrong before you bought them (I presume you only buy second hand) - I wonder if this is something you checked before buying, especially if it a really well-used older car that's done starship mileages and perhaps with several owners?
Hence the luck comment. Several other people owning exactly the same Vauxhall Vectra model may have experienced many problems (despite them being serviced regularly in accordance with guidelines), many of which are documented in the Car-by-Car review area....

Has anyone tried to wade through the Owners Manual relating to the infotainment system on their Octavia SE L? I am educated and literate but I challenge anyone to find following the instructions and options in this owners manual easy! The Sat Nav is espacially difficult. Read more
Mine has an Amundsen: I don't remember it being particularly difficult when the car was new, but there's certainly a lot of it! I found it helped to look up specific things I wanted it to do, rather than wading through it all from start to finish.
It's a lot more intuitive than the system in SWMBO's Mini - I'll give it that.
Will soon need a "new" vehicle ; am I asking the impossible with the following ?

I have recently had to have an inspection of my car for warranty, The car cut out within seconds of starting and moving off from 1 to 2 gear, loss of power and steering. the result after inspection was the engine manifold butterfly flap had come away and travelled through the engine in the process shearing the manifold rod....
