Hi all,
So I'm not very knowledgeable on cars at all but I have been having a reoccurring problem with my car which is a VW polo 1.4 petrol 2015. What happens is I will be driving on the dual carriageway in either 5th or 6th gear and going about 70mph, I'll be coming up to a roundabout so begin to slow down when I get to around 30mph or less I change to 3rd gear. Once I am off of the roundabout as soon as I put my foot on the accelerator to pick up speed my car starts making a horrendous noise (as if it's in neutral), and the dash board gear indicator says that I am in either 1st or 2nd gear when my gear stick is still in 3rd. It sounds and feels as though the car has somehow gone into neutral. There will also sometimes be a burning smell. But to sort it out I have to physically put the gear Stick into whatever number the dash board gear indicator is saying and then I can get back into 3rd and 4th etc. This doesn't happen every time I use the car but has happened around 10 times now and can be quite scary. My fiesta 1.4lx 54 plate has recently been under powered and juddering under acceleration. I took it to be serviced (plugs/air, oil filters/oil), when the mechanic noticed my core plug had worn and was filling spark plug area with water. I had core plug replaced and car serviced (car drove home fine), the next day however, same problem. I went back to garage (core plug was leaking) and they fixed it a 2nd time. now I have a misfire on cylinder 3, I've changed the plug leads but car still feels underpowered and I can feel (myself & car) juddering when stationary with engine idling, should I replace coil? Or is there any other suggestions you may have, any ideas greatly apreciated. Read more

Recently aquired '03 plate Mini Cooper with cooling issues. Previous owner (family member) kept topping up with water..............:( I have replaced the radiator via the manual but noticed the new coolant stayed in the resevoir. So, I changed the thermostat, still no joy. I admit to being an amateur, but need to know what else I can check. Coolant pump? Sensors? How do I test the system? Your help would be appreciated. Check the exansion tank for leaks, I seem to remember there was a batch of faulty ones that would fail along the plastic join in the bottle. Are there any coolant stains around the bottle?
Hi there, my father in laws S-type (registered Feb 2003, 03 reg, 2.5 V6 SE auto) has a continuous DSC not available message and anti skid amber light on all the time. The local indi has read the fault codes and the problem is the yaw rate sensor. To repair it is around £300 (Jag part £260 plus an hour to fit),

All sorted thanks, checked part number on the duff unit, bought £15 ebay part, all woks fine and DSC not available and amber lights off on their own. By the way the sensor is just aft of the gearshift.

About to buy a C200 coupe... Reading loads of reviews the diesel (c250) is supposedly the best drive (and was on my test drive) but concerned with this issue re diesel ban in Paris and London at some point!
I'll be getting a pcp deal for 4 years so won't be tied in forever but concern over what could happen by then?!

Pcp can bra suitable option for those wanting a new car with warranty and minimal risk of hassle. Also I've often supplied a new vehicle for less than a used one as we get up to 40% discount on some models.
Yes dealers doing well but as customers get smarter we brokers are picking up this business as we are independent and can offer all manner of finance not just what the dealer has available.

The correct Keycode for your radio should be: 5026
Please don't try to guess Keycodes; you only have a 1 in 10,000 chance of getting it right. Of course, if you've just acquired the car, it's quite possible someone might have done that already for you!...
My car is overheating only when in gear so far the radiator temperature sensor water pump and thermostat have been replaced to no avail it has the mechanic perplexed any suggestions ? I have been without my car for a month now and on my second mechanic this is ridiculous desperately need an answer
