I have just been ripped of with thie abouve model,I bought it out of the Auto Trader 2 weeks ago, in very good condition inside, but mechanicly absolutey littered with problems, firstly I noticed there was not a lot off torque especially in low gears,so I have took to my local garage where it as been on diagnostic machine for the last four days.
At the moment they have found that the inside of the Cat & Dpf have had there insides ripped out and they have traced the Management warning light as been ripped out,and two of the sensors could be iffy,at this moment in time it is still on diagnostic machine but the mechanics have told me there is a possibility it could be the ecu, does any one know of a guy who as a Peugeot Planet diagnostic machine

For your information I have tried to contact people on different forums because I cannot get anyone to reply on the Peugeot Forum, the one nearest to me is the guy at Swadlicote, I have sent him at least six

Right, I'm a moderator on Peugeotforums and you've only sent member "Mickiete" a VISTOR message, not a PRIVATE message.

The instructions you were given (twice) clearly said you should send a PM (private message). Many members don't read or get notifications about Visitor Messages. Private messages send an email notification....

I have a Subaru Justy. I keep it in a garage where I have a holiday apartment. There is no electricity in the garage so I take the battery off and put it on a trickle charger in my apartment. I want to buy a new car but I am worried that if I take the battery off for a few months while I I charge it, will I have a problem with the car computor? Any suggestions please. Read more

If a trader is offering a 2014 model, with 6 months' warranty still left, for £5495, is this suspicious? It seems to be around £2K less than the Parkers's private sale price. Could it be clocked or a cut and shut?? Or am I being too cagey? I'm intending to go and look at it tomorrow...

What should I look out for? Read more

Nothing wrong with buying a cat D car.

Just be aware that it will be incredibly hard to sell in the future. Just as it is now, you'd have to make it really cheap. ...

What can I do about this situation following the purchase of a second hand car. I purchased the car from a second hand car sales garage 27 days ago. There was a fault light that appeared on the dash during the test drive but this promptly went out and thought it was the garage employee who had not put his belt on properly. Less than 24 hours later (after purchase) the engine warning light came on and stayed on plus the car dropped to reduce power. The garage was contacted when they opened on the Monday and informed of this but due to the owner being out of the country from a family bereavement he phoned back a couple of days later. He refused to take the vehicle back and said it was fine when he sold it, but was allowed the opportunity to fix it. As the garage is 50+ miles away it is not possible to drive it there for this to take place. He has constantly ignored my emails and requests for the name and contact details of the warranty company. He has not responded to my recorded delivery letter. Eventually got contact with one of his employees who gave us the name of the warranty company. As it has a 28 day engine & gearbox warranty only to be told by them that he has never took the warranty out on that vehicle. I have paid for a car that I cannot use and have taxed and insured it for it to just sit on my drive. I am extremely frustrated and feel I want to take legal action. Read more

What exactly do you mean, the engine management (yellow) light (also called the emission control light) ?

If so, then I'd suggest taking it to a local (independent) garage first, using the good garage guide on here or the good garage scheme website if you don't know someone locally, and getting a diagnostic check done. Alternatively, if you know someone with a code reader, then they may be able to help you....

Not one of the "normal" exhaust companies, local or national have been able to obtain or even quote for replacement system for my car!

I very easily managed to get front "cat" pipe for it online, next day delivery for £109. Brilliant! But the only place i can find that will supply rear section is main dealer. Ah. I hear you sigh, Too b***** right!... Read more

I've come across several cases of 'motorist knee' in recent months, mainly in passengers. Motorists knee is a very painful condition that is caused by wrongly stepping out of the car using one foot and then standing up, pulling the other leg out of the car. The knee is then put under torsion and it was not designed for that. Several people I know have gone to the doctor and had knee Xrays and been put on painkillers. I told them to turn in the seat and put both feet on the ground before standing up. After a couple of weeks the ailment is cured. Read more

I suppose this is the reason behind many questions to HJ in the Car section of the Telegraph on a Saturday. Access and egress is quite an important matter as we grow older. How I remember my journey through from the Spitfire, MGB, TR and then a Porsche, but of course I was then a young blade about town. I would dread trying to manouvre in and out of any of those cars now. As for romance....well...

Hi guys,

Before anyone says I should have got this done at the garage please bear in mind that I have a young family, we are broke and can barely afford to run the car anyway. So I have to do these things myself as cheaply as possible!

My 2002 1.4 Honda Civic failed the MOT on front tyres, shocks, track rod ends and anti-roll bar drop links. The car has been super reliable apart from the front suspension so I decided to keep her going.

I picked up all the bits at my local parts place and managed to change them all OK over two evenings. I did realise at the end that I had messed up the tracking when tightening the locking nut in the dark as I hadn't used a spanner to stop the track rod itself from turning. But seeing as this needed redoing at the garage anyway I wasn't too bothered as I needed to just limp down to the garage.

The problem is that the car is undriveable due to a really serious knocking sound that clunks with each rotation of the wheel. I think that when I removed the strut I must have let the hub hang forwards and it has disengaged/extended the drive shaft. Some guy mentioned the risk of this happening in a YouTube video but I forgot at the time as there is no mention of this being a problem in the Haynes manual.

There is nothing in the drive shaft section of the manual about how to sort this out. I'm hoping I dont need to take the bloomin hub and everything off :-(

Do you think that is what is wrong? How can I fix it?

We were meant to be going on holiday on Monday!

Please help, thanks,

Dean. Read more

Clearly something not gone back together correctly. I'd strip it back down to check and investigate. At the end of the day this is a safety thing - you don't want to take your family on holiday in a death trap! With each of the front wheels jacked up remove wheel and spin to investigate noise - DONT get under the car when just on a jack though!

It's usually easier to strip down a second time anyway as the bolts wont be siezed and you have had a practice run! Obviously pay attention to the feel of the driveshaft....

It is a hart stopping moment when a child runs out in front of you. I few years ago I was driving my works lorry fully loaded at 26 tone when a 3 year old ran out in front of me from the pavement I wasn't even doing 20 mph but I remember hitting the breaks and thinking I'd hit the little girl. I got out and she was there standing in front of the lorry I'd luckily just stopped in time.but the mother was shouting at me as if it was my fault for her not keeping an eye on her child. I was shaken up and I had to get my supervisor to take the vehicle back for me. Even though I didn't hit the little girl it made me even more cautious.
