I came here to get some advice on which auto car to get my wife under 4k .
She has a debilitating back problem that makes it increasingly difficult to use a clutch etc and our car ride is rather hard .. I have drove autos in the past and think one would be ideal for her to use as you only use your right peg . ... Read more

For radios whose Serial Number begins with an "M", followed by a six digit number, you can use the following link to work out what your Keycode should be:
Whjen I first start car in morning and engine is warming up on my drive way for five minutes I noticed after about 5 minutes an unusual smell that was not there in April 2015.
It hard to explain what the smell might be. It seems as if it has faded away when the car is driven throughout the day.... Read more
Yes, cat could be the problem. Neighbour's tom might have taken to spraying during the night.
Sorry - look for trapped wiring where the work has been done. So easy to trap a wire or cable when bolting back together.

I was told by the Skoda dealer to give the 1.2 tsi a good blast for the first 2,000 miles.
I noticed the above yesterday on one tyre - fitted in December 2011 so perhaps not as disatrous as I first though.
The other was new in Jan 2014 so not noticeably worn.... Read more
I've noticed that on vehicles that are subjected to regular heavy loads that the outer edge on the nearside tyres wear, I have come to the conclusion that it is side loading due to the camber of the road maybe.
Thanks wackyracer, that definitely describes this poor old thing!...

Hi, sorry I know your post is a few years old now but just wondering how you resolved this as I am currently in the exact same position and I'm scouring the internet for info as not sure whether to fight my argument that they are to fault or just pay the fine!? Thanks in advance
Car is fine on the flat so long as you excelorate slowly and smooth. but if you need to excelorate quickly or going up a steep hill and take it to about 2000-2500 revs, its as if something is blocking it slightly lift of the gas then a puff of black smoke and it will go. Had diesel fitter changed. any ideas please Read more
Unfortunately this part is not cheap, around £200 from memory. The only issue you may have is that if the scv is full of debris,it could be an indication that the hi-pressure pump is breaking up,another known fault with this engine. This would probably make the car a write off ,as this is a major engine strip to replace.Btw ,you may be able to find this part (scv) as Saab old/new stock and the price is cheaper.
I've had numerous problems with my lower engine mount. It's the second time in 5 months it's broken. Took it into pug today and they have said it's a different engine than what they have on their books. They have given me LH2W126. I have no idea what this means or if anyone can tell me what vehicle it has come out of. Can anyone help? Read more
Hi, Peugeot told me that the engine number they have for my car on their records starts with LH4T (I didn't catch the rest) and it should be LH2W126 which on all the documents I own on the car says LH2W1264968 even the V5. So it must be the correct one, no? Do you think they are trying to fob me off? I bought the car a year ago secondhand.

Another vote for Forester or its bigger brother Legacy Outback.
2 litre in the Outback might be a bit underpowered, so 2.5 or if fuel consumption not an issue the 3.0 6 pot is a sweet engine, chain cam too, have to be registered before March 23rd 2006 though or £500 VED for the 3.0....
