my sons Clio 1.2 on an 05 plate wont start. Key in and turn dash lights all flash and dim along with the radio, engine wont turn and a pink relay under the bonnet is clicking. I have checked battery 12.8v, meter onto engine from battery live is showing the same voltage. jumped car and starts but dies very quickly after leads are removed.

Think I would be looking at the alternator not the battery.....

Absolutely. The conclusion to draw from this sad episode (after returning the car or getting it improved to your satisfaction) is never to blacken this dealer's premises again, not to slate Toyota dealers in general. Just as your contract is with the seller, not the maker, sellers (rather than makers) vary enormously in how they run their business. Usually the better ones stay in business for longer, so maybe you should buy from those....
from the numpties that choose to tailgate car drivers. I have to say this is about the most intimidating and unsettling driving style ever. Tonight it was a British one in a '30' limit. These drivers should hand in their licence telling their boss they are no longer fit to drive. Failing that, I won't write here what I would like to do to these individuals.

Just give your windscreen a really good wash for a minute, that usually knocks them back, but it doesn't happen much to me as I tend to go a few indiacted mph over the posted limit.
Two slightly different problems came up this week, and found an interesting solution.

Is the mobile law only when you are actually holding the phone? I expect if it's held on a holder then it would eb ok.

The stock Sumitomo front pads on my 2007 Hilux had little 'bite' and i didnlt like the feel at all, being a new model vehicle at the time good branded pattern friction parts were very difficult to find, after about 12 months of my ownership TMD released the correct part under the Mintex brand name....
