Peugeot 307 CC - Different engine? - haylee202
I've had numerous problems with my lower engine mount. It's the second time in 5 months it's broken. Took it into pug today and they have said it's a different engine than what they have on their books. They have given me LH2W126. I have no idea what this means or if anyone can tell me what vehicle it has come out of. Can anyone help?

Exactly what the ysay, the engine type in the paperwork does not match whats in the car. No idea what the number you have quoted is as does not look like a pug engine type to me!

Hi, the diagrams you sent me were for the mount, went to the Peugeot garage today as they've been avoiding me on the phone for three days now and they said they don't know what the engine is out of, they ordered a mount for a 406 but that won't fit either but I can still buy it for £90 :-( They suggest a recon engine. If the car was a pile of crap I wouldn't think twice of scrapping it, but it's not, it's immaculate condition inside and out. The man at Peugeot even suggested getting rid quick but I couldn't handle being the cause of a major accident especially with the possibility of children being in it. So, anyone know where I can get a recon engine from for a 2.0 05 307cc?

If you have the engine number that can be traced back to its former home.

Did you buy the car new or second hand? If its the latter maybe the former owner replaced the engine at some time? I've had some real sheds over the years with spaghetti wiring loom hacks from former owners!

But Peugeot are right to some degree. If someone has fitted the wrong engine (hence your trouble with the mounts) it would have me wondering what other bodges have been done. At least once a week I send someone away with a flea in their ear for asking me to help them bodge airbag lights so they can sell their cars, error free.

Hi, Peugeot told me that the engine number they have for my car on their records starts with LH4T (I didn't catch the rest) and it should be LH2W126 which on all the documents I own on the car says LH2W1264968 even the V5. So it must be the correct one, no? Do you think they are trying to fob me off? I bought the car a year ago secondhand.
