Hello again! Still on the lookout for that 7 seater... we are firmly set on a petrol now that London (where we live) is looking at various low emission initiatives. Most petrol 7 seaters are hard to find and thirsty with around 40 mpg combined, not much better than our current old petrol car. Since we hold our cars for years there's no point in risking a diesel which may later become too "dirty" plus all its low speed-associated issues.
Anyway sorry for the long introduction - Grand C-Max is on the agenda with the most economical 1 ltr petrol engine (seems there's a facelifted model coming soon but I don't know if the petrol engines are changing or not). Anyone has experience with that? I've read it is not a sporty car, but we are mostly driving in the city streets with low speeds, so as long as it moves people ok, is economical and reliable it doesn't matter so much. We are 2 adults and 3 kids, plus the (very) occasional guests/friends.... Read more

It's ok, done it now.
I'm glad I have the mk2 and not the previous model, that involves removing the whole door panel.
Thanks for your reply though.

We had one of the last Mazda 2 Capella's which we bought new in August 2007 (registered in Sept so 57 plate)., and kept it until April 2012 - when we bought a new i20 which was roomier, better equipped, and had a more practical shaped boot opening (ie less intrusion by the rear lights) than the replacement 2 (2007-2015).

There are all sorts of giveaways in or on ae car which can suggest a true mileage. Not many owners (or users of lease cars) bother to renew worn seats, or pedal rubbers and things like that. Bodywork scuffs, marks in the tailgate opening, bonnet and screen chips ...

Unfortunately if this fiesta is fitted with the 3 tier radio,it is a right pain to access the radio serial number label. It involves dismantling the centre console panel and all the heater control mechanism.

To remove air filter you must remove the brake flued top up,container not compleatly but just the bolts holding it on, then the seal from one side to other, the thing that it's bolted to actually pulls forwards and out then you can access the air filter box easy. Make sure you put all seals back as they were other wise you could end up with water on fuse box like previous scenic and water getting in to car via glove box. Job reverse job done : ) Read more
