I am having problems with control panel lights on my 2011 mark 3 Ford Focus Zetec 5 door hatchback 1.6 tdci. (32000 miles). Purchased s/h November 2014.

When the ignition is switched on, the halo light surrounding the radio on/off button, and the hazard warning switch, along with the heating controls, the steering wheel controls, and external lights switch (but NOT the radio control panel switches) all light up. However, once the engine is started and running, the radio and hazard illuminated switches go out, while the heating controls and headlight switches remain illuminated.... Read more

Hi,

I have just bought a 03 plate s-type with 130k on the clock, everything seemed fine for around 100 miles but on the way home from work today as I accelerated joining the motor way from around 20-40mph it started to jolt quite badly, the traction control light blinked and it felt like I slid across the road, not sure weather this was just the jolting or sliding, I rang the garage I bought the car from and all they said is that it needs to warm up? This is the first automatic car I have ever owned, can you please tell me weather this is a common problem with older gearboxes and requires a new one or is there an easy fix?

Your help is greatly appreciated

Sounds like you were on salted roads which had attracted the damp, and formed a very slippery early evening surface.

I think what you experienced was pure wheelspin which felt like judder as the tyres scrabbled for grip and the car running wide, hence the TC light....

Hello all,

I have an issue with the OBD port on my 2009 mk1 kuga. Prior to my Mot last November, the engine management light appeared on my dash. A friend in work has an obd Bluetooth reader and plugged it in. Turned out the fault code present was the dpf pressure was low, I'm assuming it was due to short journeys and soot build up.

I purchased a similar reader for the real time information feature as well as to read any codes should they appear. Now my predicament is, since the Mot, the obd port does not work as it should. The power led on the reader lights up but it will not communicate with the ECU, my friend tried his reader with the same results.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? The engine management light has come on again and I'd like to find out what fault codes are there before I take it to a garage.

Thanks in advance

I would think a low differential pressure means a clear filter?

Or a sensor out of range?

After seeing the idea on another forum I disconnected what I believe is the Warm Air Sensor (located just above the EGR) and my really rough running has been solved instantly. Does this mean the sensor or the wiring to it it caput or can I just leave the plug disconnected without causing any harm?

Thanks, Stuart Read more

Hi, I need a bit of an assistance. My wife is a main driver and I am a second driver and she sorted insurance and gave all the details.

I had an accident today and when i was going through details i found out our licence under policy agreement is shown from when we got our provisional licenses not the full licenses. Everything else is correct. I am wondering if it creates any problem claiming insurance. thanks guys Read more
