Had a youngster drive all the way down solid white line hatched area at the end of a dual carridgeway to carve 2 of us up ! the one in front severley ! he then didnt stop for the red lights at the roundabout ! blatantley drove over when they had been red a while already, caught him up few hundred yards later only for him to overtake a line of cars round a sweeping lefthand bend with double white lines!
No wonder their premiums are so high. He had total disregard for everyone. He needed locking up rather than being loose in his Fiesta ST Read more

Sadly it's a sticky wicket if there were not witnesses and the accused is staunchly denying it. My preferred outcome in this case would be for some further damage to inexplicably appear on her vehicle one night...

Hi can anybody suggest anything ive got the above car, which is only blowing cold air, when driving, the temp gauge is normal, would it be the fuse and if so do you know the number of the fuseor something more sinister like the thermostat and is that easy to change?
kind regards Read more
If the temperarture gauge is reading normal the thermostat will be OK. I believe these use an electrically controlled water valve which goes faulty, sounds as though yours has stuck closed.
Which VAG engine is the sweet spot between reliability and MPG?
I want a car to use around town but also returns good economy on long distances. Spending between 4 and 6k. ... Read more
659FBE is right. My AWX is 6 years old with 130K. Well looked after by a good main dealer on a variable service regime. Services are flagged up at about every 20K with little oil use between. The 130PD diesel is very sweet, an excellent power band if needed and average for me including some town work is just a bit over 50mpg. All from a car that carts around rubgy players of 6'5" and over 18 stones and they can have a dance in the back seats. The boot is so big it has an echo! Current value is about £3000ish but is worth much more to me, to replace what it gives would cost a pretty penny. I hope it does starship mileages, it is such a good car. What is it? A Skoda of course, a Superb Elegance 1.9TDi 130PD. Cheers Concrete
I hold my hands up, I've done a dafty and let my heart rule my head and bought a BMW which is ex lease and previously "owned" by a solicitor for a very good price.
Sounds fine so far.... Read more

Hi hope someone can help, i'm having problems with our Focus after servicing last week.
Followed haynes guide for changing Fuel Filter ( Or so i thought) removed connectors etc replaced filter etc reconnected etc nothing. Then realised the Haynes book mentions right at the end system needs to be reprimed.
After googling found refilling filter with diesel helps tried this, fired after a couple of attempts then dies again. Dashboard said there was an engine management fault.... Read more
The only way to bleed the system was by removing the injectors - the mind boggles you have probably created your own air leaks.
i require a new front pipe with flexi for my exhaust, my friend had a look under my car and told me it's welded to the CAT. He told me if he removed the front pipe i would require a new CAT aswell, is this right? Is there no way of saving the CAT? Its going to cost me a fortune.

Without seeing it id say if it can be sleeved or welded to the new pipe i can't see a problem.
I know some do come with a cat in the front section and you buy the lot, if you can get sepperate then above may work.

Is your gearbox fluid filthy black? Not a trace of pink? Don't auto's have drive bands? Maybe one has failed.
