I'm up to changing my auxillary belt tensioner pulley, but having problems loosening the tension. I have a peugeot 306 1.6 1995. I'm also thinking of changing the belt(s) or at least the other one that runs power steering. Just need to know how to loosen those belts, thanks! Read more

I managed to get 7 points on my license in the first two years (last year) I was told that the DVLA would send me a letter telling me my license would be revoked, but I never ever received such a letter!

Anyhow, I continued to drive for the last year and I was stopped last week for speeding 46 on a 30mph in Glasgow after being caught by cops at the side of the road with a speed gun. They sent me on my way with a fixed penalty notice of 3 points and 60 pounds and they didn't bother to check my license details on their system.

Now, I phoned DVLA today who have confirmed that my license has been revoked. I'm obviously going to stop driving now (should have done this before!).

My question is this though:

- Since I have accepted the fixed penalty notice, am I right in saying the maximum I will get is 3 points and 60 pounds when I go to pay the fine and take my license? Is there anyway they can overrule this, since they never checked the status of my license when I get stopped?

Please advise.

I think people get confused with 'invalid' insurance. The insurance company can refuse the comprehensive aspect of the cover, but not the third party cover.
