Hello to all looking for a bit of advice,i have a Honda accord dtec solid car very happy with it,but one thing annoys me about it there is no spare or space saver which is bad for a car like this,it comes with the foam which fortunately has not been needed in 18 months of ownership.I do around 20k a year including long runs out with the family and would like to know should i get one or the other or not bother ? No current issues, cars water level doesn't seem to go down. Surely it only uses a little, but I would expect it to go down a bit. Just doesn't seem to ever need topping up and I wondered if that was a potential issue?
This is my brothers car btw. So I don't personally know precise information about it. Read more
Its a sealed sysetm if there are no faults then it should never need topping up the level should stay between the two marks on the header expansion tank.
The removable right side boot panel in my car seems to have lost the ability to close the catch and stay in place. I can see no obvious way of accessing the fixings on it and wondered if this was a replacement part.
The car is less than 3 years old - would this be covered on warranty?... Read more

I totally agree they make MP3 adaptors which fit into the stacker unit socket and display the tracks on the radio.
Have a look at these units on Ebay.de I am sure they will have them in the UK...
Help... my VW Polo wont start if it is wet either by rain/condensation and also cuts out and wont restart if I drive through a puddle - 2 mechanics have tried but can't see the problem, has anyone got any ideas? Read more
Hello i wonder if its a electrical problem have you tried a auto electrician?Hope this helps.
I bought a Fabia Elegance Estate 105bhp Tdi in July, to replace my 8 year old 1.9 Tdi. What a difference!
The new car is fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx 205/45/R16 83W (168mph rated tyes) which give an appallingly harsh, jittery & noisy ride. This is the only wheel/tyre size available on the Elegance, although the identical car with an SE trim, is supplied with 195/55 R15 85H as standard, but with the option to "upgrade" to 205/45/R16.
On recommendation by two local tyre factors, smaller rims & higher profile tyres would considerably improve the ride & would fit in the wheel arches. However, to avoid any potential issues with warranty or insurance, I contacted Skoda UK four times, for approval to downsize the wheels & tyres to the 15 inch SE size, but ran into a brick wall. They won't approve any downsize.
According to Skoda Customer Services, the Elegance has a different rear spring to the SE
"to counteract the higher level of gravitational forces caused by the increased weight of the vehicle. The wheel and tyre combination chosen for this level of trim combine to keep as high a level of traction and road-holding as in the other levels of trim on the Fabia range. The suspension set-up prevents squatting or bucking when accelerating and braking. This provides a smoother transition and helps to reinforce the elegance name."... Read more
"Anyone found a tyre they would recommend for comfort, low noise & acceptable wet grip?".
Michelin Primacy HP,Expensive but worth it.
6 weeks ago I bought a 2002 Octavia estate TDi from a dealer in Portsmouth. The car had 104k on the clock and was sold with the dealers 3 month standard warranty. The turbo has been playing up and the car frequently goes into limp mode. A fault scan indicates that the turbo vnt vanes are sticking. (I did the scan) This requires an overhaul or replacement turbo at great expense. This is obviously not a new fault and probably was there when I purchased the car as the fault first occured within 2 weeks of getting the Octavia. The dealer has had the car for the past week and am hoping to hear today what he has done about the problem. The warranty has a limit of only £200 per claim. He tried to tell me before I left it with him that the problem is likely to be the maf sensor (I hope it is).
Should the dealer be sorting this and paying for all the repairs?... Read more
The polo was an w reg automatic 1.4 but in dire need of a service, when cold it spluttered and stalled. Was scary when trying to nip out into traffic. It was doing about 20mpg when I got it and was quite noisy. A litre of oil helped a lot with that! Was good of them to lend me something though. May well recommend the garage!
Good to see a manufacturer defending their product in a professional manner. Read more
Can any one recommend something that will hide light scuffs (not deep scratches) on interior plastics. I don't want anything that will give a shine to the plastic as I think this looks worse. Read more
Try this link i am sure they will have something http://valetingcars.com/gift-ideas.html also when you say light scuffs what do you mean? dirt within the plastics you cannot remove or damage to the plastic.
I use supersheen from Autoglym and yes it shines but looks excellent and does not leave it sticky, I have valeted a few hundred motors up to now and have never had anyone complain about the quality of product or shine that has been left. What chemical are you using on your plastics now to clean/buff/shine etc?
Is there any car reviews for Skoda Fabia's?
My wife took here driving lessons and test in one and wants only to drive this model car.... Read more
