VW Polo - N Reg - Car wont start when it is wet - MGC01

Help... my VW Polo wont start if it is wet either by rain/condensation and also cuts out and wont restart if I drive through a puddle - 2 mechanics have tried but can't see the problem, has anyone got any ideas?
