Hi all
I've got a 300 mile trip coming up at the end of august with the mrs and 2 kids, I was just wondering if anyone would consider using either a ratchet strap or a couple of bungee cords over a roof box just for added safety. What do you guys think?... Read more

But would they all fit in the roof box? If not, I'd go for bungees for the kids and ratchet strap for the missus. :-)
Hi,
I have an 06 1.4 petrol Zetec Fiesta with 35K miles. Occasionally if you let the clutch up a bit roughly while under load (like a poor gear change when in a hurry or pulling away very quickly), you get a quick squeal from somewhere under the bonnet as the clutch engages. It only ever happens when using the clutch so I guess it is clutch related. It's not from the pedal, but is from somewhere under the front of the car. The clutch is quiet at all other times, including at idle and when you drive it properly. Any ideas what's wrong?
Thanks,
MarkSpace. Read more
Could be be the clutch plate itself or the thrust bearing, either means taking the gearbox out so I would just put up with it until something more serious happens.

Can anybody beat £3205 as the cost of selecting DAB radio as an option on a new car?
I am interested in the new BMW 5 Series Touring.... Read more
I am not in favour of DAB but the reason its so poor os because the transmitters are switched to low power until the existing frequencies are switched of(thats the official blurb).
If you have a USB port in your car you can buy a cheap plug in unit here in Germany and I am sure you can in the UK it works here extremely well I use mine in the house and it works in the car with no problems. Although the car is fitted with DAB television and radio already but it does work ok.

Hi, been looking at buying a Clio and have looked at a variety of cars from 2002 - 2006. Looking to spend no more than 4000. Found a 2006 55 plate campus sport 1.2 for just under 4k. Condition is very good, 2 owners, the last owner has had it for 18 months or so and put 20k on the clock (total mileage is 30K) but from the service book looks like they haven't had it serviced. It's had 2 services from the first owner (main dealer I think) but not for the last 2 years.
The garage is a well known name franchised dealership (not renault though) and they've had it a while now and have reduced it a few hundred quid. I'm not mechanically minded but it runs well, will come with a warranty, HPI clear etc. Best I've seen so far.... Read more
Personally speaking if the car looks and drives o.k. it is worth a punt.
I bought a 1994 Clio five years ago with service admittidly but in the five years we have owned the car it has covered 35,000 miles taking mileage to 111,000 approx and apart from routine service it has needed an alternator, four tyres and really at my insistance a new heater radiator....
