Not sure if ayone can answer this but i had a company car in April 2009 that was involved in a traffic accident, the car was written off so my company has given me a hired car ever since, my question is do i still need to pay the annual company car tax benefit?

They are still taxing me on the Audi that i have not had since April 2009 is this right? i have checked the net but can not seem to find an answer.... Read more

And personal taxation of company cars is actually your responsibility, not your firms. The firm has to send off a form every so often detailing the car you drive, but ultimately it is down to you to make sure its correct.

Because if it isnt, you are the one who has to pay back the tax - or in this case I suspect claim some back. What is the hire car? And why have you been in it for so long?

I am alarmed to read in a short road test that the new crossover Mini has a Text message / Twitter screen built into the dash so that owners can read 'em whilst they drive!

Your average text/twit user can be seen in any High Street walking along without any regard for those around 'em so what's their driving going to be like?... Read more

I certainly agree with the death penalty syndrome, but.......

I've looked at a few online reviews of the Countryman and I can't see any reference to this feature (no doubt the marketing types will call it something like a "Lifestyle Addition")

Is it actually in the view of the driver, or is it just for passengers in the same way that you can get TV screens built into seat backs

Although it could look impressive in a nerdy kind of way if it was a head-up display like on fighter planes

This write up will cover the installation of two current linux operating systems and then discuss interactive parameters concerning Symbian S60 and it`s deployment in Windows `dependent` Smartphones.

Basically, I gave up trying to duel install Windows and Linux, many years ago - following Linux systems trashing the MBR. So I set up an old Compaq running through a switch to the monitor, with the Windows computer as a separate machine.... Read more

Thanks for the advice;-)

I really like the Linux on the Eee PC 701SD - that I use all of the time for the internet (other than experiments with the old desk-top mentioned. I think there are likely to be better netbook installations that would go on that too - but don`t have an external DVD drive....

I had a Mondeo TDCi (a EuroIV variant) and it stopped whilst driving it. It would not restart and made what I can only describe as 'quacking noises'. It was very strange. The RAC could not get it started either. It turned out to be a faulty EGR valve.
