Cheers for your advice, the reason for a new altenator was a winding noise, and the AA told me the bearing was gone in it, but the noise is still there with the new one on so,i just dont know?

Hi all, my first post!

Just bought a 95 2.2i auto Camry, FSH and all the extras, a lovely motor, but suffers with the apparently "common" drivers side window problems. The window DOES drops down, bit of a crunchy noise as it goes (tried WD'ing the runners but it didnt make a difference), but won't go back up without a fight... lots of jiggling, button pressing and general swearing...... I have just read a review of some of these products in Auto Express; Prolong Wash & Shine was rated best. Has anyone used any of these products? The concept seems great but I am worried that my paintwork will get scratched. Read more

Have any readers had any experience of this company for selling their vehicles. I am just not 100 per cent certain of them, especailly having a reasonbale car to dispose of and not an old banger. Read more

My tale may pertain to a competitor of Webuyallcars but here goes.....

We just had to sell SWMBO's 7 month old Golf VI due to an unexpected assignment abroad (in itself a pleasant surprise). I rang around a few VW dealers and then tried a competitor just to see....

Hey, Ok, there are a few things i need to ask you. I know this is more of a legal forum than a technical but do any of you guys know what internal job cards look like? Only reason i ask is because my solicitor has directly requested internal job cards from the dealer for anytime my car went into them, they have only replied back with what looks like is receipts - the ones i already have from them. That cannot be the job cards right?

Also, what are the responsibilities of RAC and Mazda dealer to note down the mileage on every collection or drop off? Do they legally have to write this down on their files? One more question, my argument is with the selling dealer.... Read more

Avant is right, It might be a sleeve with notes but more normally now it will be a comuter record showing the make, model and registration of the car and the mileage, your details and what it was in for.

There is no legal requirement to note down the mileage but most garages will and it is good practice to do so....

Yup, Bentleys do break down.

My Pa's Blower did so, at the top of the St Bernard Pass in 1946 and was towed by horse to the local blacksmith....

I had something similar on the Xsara, also a diesel. It was some sort of air leak on the brake servo (mounted on the back of the braking master cylinder). It didn’t seem to affect brake assist, but I had it replaced. I advise that you get this checked out soon. I have since read about other makes of car suffering the same problem. The original servo was a Bosch, which is likely to be the standard fit on European built cars of this age.
