Short of forensically questioning a whole load of dealers/garages and compiling a very long list, is there any way of finding out the servicing and major repair/maintenance costs applicable to a given make/model of car? I'm thinking of some sort of website or database accessible to the general public which gives some indication of the costs of annual servicing and the replacement of major things like clutches, cambelts, etc.. I seem to recall seeing information like this contained in some old car magazines in the past but can't find it now. TVM. Read more

If this were an older, pre CAT car, I would close up the plug gaps to around half the manufacturers spec - to see if it was the HT side of things giving a problem.
There are several reasons this may not be desireable on a more modern car -but you could try it at your own risk for a few miles and if it runs smoothly on full throttle - you know it`s the HT side that can`t handle or supply the voltage to the plugs with the normal gap....
