My glow plug has started flashing when starting my car up, it runs fine but with no turbo oomph and also the engine management light has now come on permanently. On occasions the glow pluf light does not come on but id say 50% of the time it does, this has been happening no for about 4 days. Does anyone know what is wonrg, I've read other threads on this about the car cutting o0ut and dying or not starting up ut this has not happened with mine (yet). Went to a Jeep showroom recently to look at the Patriot but I do too many miles to live with its 9000 mile service interviews.

I recently purchased a classic Mini which has been fitted with a 1.4L Vauxhall motor on an AllSpeed subframe. I'm trying to find out what year the motor is so I can purchase replacement parts for it. The motor appears to be a C14SE, but I'm not certain. I don't know what the motor came out of. Is there a chart I can use to reference the motor serial number to find out what year it was produced? Same for the tranamission. It has a 5speed trans but I'm not sure what it came out of. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

i think that you will struggle to to get a manafacture date from the engine number alone only a rough idea ie 1994-1998, Regards TB
I have started to get a major, and potentially dangerous, problem with my high mileage (150k) 53 reg Zafira 2 litre diesel where, if I have to accerate hard (for instance on a motorway) the engine management warning light comes on and the b***** system puts me into "get home" mode, slowing the car dramatically - which when you are attempting to overtake is disconcerting to say the least.
Googling the problem seemed to indicate that the EGR valve was at issue so we cleaned that with carb cleaner and a toothbrush and took it out for a test drive when theh damn light came back on again ....... Read more
a proper code read with a decent code reader or you can continue to guess, i would have a stab in the dark and think you will have something like critical system malfunction ,but without proper diagnisis everything will be a guess get it code read, it will be cheaper and quicker, post the results and i/others will try to help, Regards TB
Just got myself a Fiesta Frascati 1.3 on a 95 M plate... Was tapping fairly loud when i got it, and ive now done an oil change and engine flush. Tapping is still there, when i took the oil out.. there was only 1 litre in there... Is this a case of damage done?? Or is there something i can do to stop and fix this tapping?? Read more
And make sure ALL the filters and orifices in the crankcase ventilation system are clean.

If the EML has come on, then your 1st port of call would be getting the codes read, if you post the codes on here, them im sure that someone more helpful than me will be able to help
