Im posting this message in total confusion, and after visiting my local dealership, who knew nothing more than I do, and in fact pointed me in the direction of the VW Website (which also doesnt help).

We are interested in a VW Golf Bluemotion. Having done our reading up, we decided to take on a test drive. The dealer (understadably) didnt have a Bluemotion in stock, but gave us a 1.6TDI SE, which as we (and the dealer) understood it is identical to the Bluemotion.

We loved the car, and were given a brochure and pricelist to take away.

Here starts the confusion;

It appears that VW have done a model change, so the gold bluemotion is now based on the Golf TDI s, not the SE. This obviously means you loose a lot of nice extras, and get a cabin missing some of the plushness. This is known as the Golf Bluemotion 2010.

However, looking through the price list we were given, it appears you can now buy a Golf 1.6 TDI SE with Bluemotion.

We were also quoted upto 6 months for delivery, which seems incredible....if this the case at all dealers?

If anyone is able to confirm which models of Golf are available in a Bluemotion format, it would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like you have the answer now but it is confusing.
I have this week ordered a 1.6 TDI 105PS SE Bluemotion Technology. This is different from the pure Bluemotion model which lacks a lot of goodies, returns 3-4 mpg more but is only marginally cheaper. You have to study the brochure or website closely to work it all out. You start with the SE model and add the Bluemotion engine.
Mine is contract hire and 10 - 12 weeks away.
I didn't take a test drive but a thousand reviews can't all be wrong regarding the quality of this car

The car's canbus network system should log what's triggered the alarm. A trip to the dealers is required to have the fault codes read out, unless you can spot anything obvious beforehand - eg, bonnet pin switch out of alignment, door/boot not closing properly (the light on the dash will remain on if so). Also try disabling the ultrasonic movement detectors to see if the fault still occurs with them switched off.

Can you help or advise me on this.
I had a flat battery on my alfa 156 which looks like has had it.
I have managed to replace with another. My problem is now I have power but no ignition. When I turn the key to MAR There is also a lot of ticking going on.
When I hit ignition the engine does not turn over. Then I get ABS EBD System failure take it to the dealers.

appreciate input thanks

I think it's good, if such a system worked then you could effectively eliminate a lot of congestion on the motorway network, most of which is caused by useless humans making bad decions at the wheel.

For example, the most smooth flowing motorway that I have ever travelled on is the stretches of roadworks that are controlled by SPECS, in all the times I've used them I've only encountered one jam in a SPECS zone and that was caused by an accident tailback On the whole, by keeping everyone moving at a similar speed you find that you get almost no jams.

This appears to me to be a way of emulating that effect whilst also saving some fuel owing to the reduced wind resistance.

I admit that in it's current form it's not really a particular revelation and will make little difference, but once the technology is perfected and can be scaled up then it's welcome to the (distant) future guys. Don't tell me that you all really think that humans will be controlling the traffic of the future? Computers can do it far more efficiently and more than likely with far fewer fatalities.

The only bit that I don't like about the plan is allowing cars to travel between lorries, as someone has rightly pointed out, if a car or obstacle (e.g. a military tank, as happened a few years back) were to be dropped into the carriageway the cars in the middle would be crushed completely with certain fatalities. The cars should be at the back (which makes most sense for wind resistance anyway)

Hello.
Can anyone help with a problem I am currently experiencing with the near side rear indicator.
At the moment it works fine until I switch the lights on and then the rear light on that side starts flashing with the indicator and if I apply the breaks at the same time the rear light flashers even faster.
Does anyone have any clues as to what could be going wrong or how I can solve this?
Many Thanks spanner Read more

hi, i have a problem with my clio, whilst i was driving last night it just cut out, and now wont start, we tried jump leads and bump start but to no avail, all my electrics work i.e lights, radio ect. i have noticed that the immobiliser light on the dash now does not appear at all!! where as before it would flash or stay on briefly.

i have the key fob, central locking ect system.

any ideas or help??

p.s the car had attempt break in last week through the driver door, taking the sill from the window. could this be a cause? especially with it not being covered yet, and weve had lots of rain.

car does 70-80 miles per day so gets a good run, and i think theres a slight alternator problem, as it has started a grating sound when standing.

thanks in advance Read more

I'd be happy with that. In fact i'd welcome it.
