Hi i'm new to this site but was recommended by a friend
I have a problem with my car it has been running fine since i bought it about 2 months ago but i went to start it this morning and it wouldn't. I know this sounds daft but i have tried putting more petrol init as it was quite low but that didn't work it sounds similar to the battery being flat so i tried jumpleads but that didnt work, any ideas on what it could be. i would be gratefull for any help. not enough information
but
if you came out this morning and your car battery had died due to the severe frost we had then jump leads wont overcome a dead battery on a car and start it
if this sounds like your conundrum i suggest you replace your car battery first and try again
I have my car set on hottest usually.
Basically my car blows hot air for roughly 10 seconds and then it will go cold again and stay cold.
Does anyone know what this could be? Thank you!

Just to add to bell boy's post, make sure you reseat that plastic cover perfectly, and ensure the rubber seal is sitting flat before you do so, or you will get very wet feet next time it rains. I found this out the hard way! :-(
Hi All,
Drivers side electric window has started to judder. I tried cleaning the glass but no improvement.
Car is still under warranty but is there a quick DIY fix or is it likely to be something mechanical that I should take it back for?
Thanks for any advice.

On an 08 model I'd take it back so the fualt is logged. There is no way the guides have clogged up in such a short time. Regards Peter
Hi
My astra has at sometime in the past had a new front spring put on but the person who did it did not line it up correctly now it wont pass a mot.
Does anyone know how difficult it is to sort out?
Would I be able to do it or do I need to take it to a mechanic?
Thanks very much for any answers I may receive

Thank you foryour help
Yes someone must replaced the spring before I got the car as I did not know until it went for its mot.
Think I may have to get someone else to do it as I have not done a spring before and it looks a bit complicated!!
Many thanks

Just a poiintless question but one which will trigger debate. We are always told that flying is bad for the environment. So would would be cleaner for the environment two people taking up two seats on a plane or two people in a modern supermini going from say London to Barcelona?
Lets assume that flying requires you to use some sort of transport to get the airports too.
A typical plane would be an Airbus A319 with about 130 seats and a car would be say a FIAT 500. Which is cleaner for the environment?
I have a feeling the car would be cleaner but I have no scitentific knowledge to back that up with. Read more
I'm doing my bit, I'd not flown for several, err, weeks. Until today. Ahem. And I may have another 5 or 6 flights booked for the next 3 weeks.
Not looking good really.
On the bright side, my car mileage has dropped through the floor recently. I'm forever on the train to London or the plane to Germany. Ah well.
my 02 mondeo tdci 130 is still showing the same symptoms even after i changed all 4 injectors. Noisy on idle and underpowered. the glow plug light is flashing and a p2337 code showed up on diagnostic. I replaced all 4 injectors with exactly the same part no.s from an identical car, but still no difference. Is coding the answer, or is coding only needed if the injectors have different part no.s?
cheers Read more
Coding still needed I think.
As I understand it the coding compensates for the fact that even nominally identical injectors actually behave slightly differently. The flow rates etc.
As injectors age and wear their performance changes - which is why recoding is recommended sometimes on old injectors.
With older injection systems there was no big deal about small variations, however modern high pressure systems do not just have a single injection per cycle, there can be 12!
In fact, I asked about this a while ago :
