Just bought a new audi a4. My dealer susggests i get the exterior and interior done with supaguard. HE says its worth about 400 pounds, he'll let me have it for 300 pounds.
Is it worth it? Does it work? Or is there a better solution like regular wax and polishing?
Any advice please? Read more

It does last. :-(

Our volvo was done by a dealer before we bought it - it is such a mess.

Entered the M1 this morning here in Yorkshire, giving it as little throttle as possible in order to save enough money to buy the er.. Telegraph at White Rose.

Joined a few cars in line doing exactly 50mph, clear road in front so no obvious reason other than fuel saving. Trucks were really wafting past in lane two and there was a significant speed difference so no tailgating... ( not suggesting that actually happens of course)

Found I was sustaining 80mpg give or take a bit over 5 miles.

Is this the new future with significantly sub truck speed in lane one ( for fuel money savers) and trucks happy to make progress in lane two without the frustrations of cars trying to drive at exactly their governed maximum speed in the er.. `slow lane`

First time I have seen a line of cars `braving it out` like that. Pioneers of the new fuel prices perhaps?

Maybe that's why so many drivers get caught for speeding cus they don't know what the legal limits are for any given road !

At least the flat cap economy drivers won't be getting nicked for speeding thus saving themselves even more cash.

Hi

I am looking at changing my ageing Pajero - as I no longer have a caravan and the cost of using it - diesel wise is too much.

Anyway - looking for a large family car as have 2 kids, plus have a dog, and we do tend to go away for long weekends and holidays in the car - need something with a big boot. I also like the high driving position so the Zafira fits the bill I believe. Also - an estate does also but not the high driving position.

Anyway - seems to be some great deals on Zafiras - seen one, new 1.9 diesel , breeze version for £12995 (new recommended price its 18k) plus £1000 part ex and interest free credit.

Anyway - wondered if anyone here has bought a new one recently and if so any advice on how far I can push the dealers to get the lowest price.

Many Thanks

Scott

Well, just seen there is a Zafira 1.9 CDTi 150 Design local to me in network q garage with 10800 miles - ex demo/sales guy's car.

Currently up for 13.5K.

Any ideas how much I can possibly get them down considering its a ex demo car.

I am thinking say approx 1K and get them to take my old Pajero off my hands aswell - not worth that much - plus its MOT/tax are all due on the next month.

Also - anyone put front and rear parking sensors in - or got the local garage to do it and if so - how much they charged?

Thoughts?

Hi, my son has an 8 year old manual 1.4 Peugeot 306, and has noticed a little amount of oil on the ground overnight about the size of 3ins by 5 ins. He has looked at the engine block and it seems to be leaking at the joint of the cylinder head/engine block. This seems like a head gasket needing replacement. How can he tell? Could it be anything else? The engine isnt losing power or anything, and there doesnt seem to be water contamination of the oil.

Any definitive information gratefully received!

Thanks,

hi room, when you take your car in for its MOT do they check your "previous" on the MOT web site for things like advisories or serious faults or do they look at the car at the time of the MOT as a blank canvass as it were ? thanks ....zoo

{dropped make/model of car as this is a general question, and not make/model specific} Read more

i cant believe the car passed the MOT this morning, well it actually failed on the indicator bulbs , apparently the coloured coating had come off so the chap replaced them for me there and then £50 all in including the test fee, all the emmissions were spot on , the chap who tested it said you would be lucky to get readings like that on a new car, i'm well chuffed , i was worried it would fail miserably having been t boned on the motorway in january , obviously these korean cars aint as bad some people think... thanks again for the replies ......zoo
