  • Citroen - DS 17 Dec 2008 (Forum)
All this discussion about old cars has made me nostalgic for these. Have had several Citroens - in my view the 'quirkier' the better (apart from the XM). But the DS - should I? Could I? Buy one and afford to run it that is.
  • Citroen DS - 1964 citroen DS, should I buy? Is it rare? 1 Jan 2012 (Forum)
HI everybody! I am in the States, and I have a line on a 64 DS that´s solid, but been exposed to the hot sun in the West for a long time.I have no experience with these, but I´v ealways nthought they were cool. Anyway, I have always had oddball cars, but with no knowledge
  • Citroen - New DS 17 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Half asleep this morning I caught the fag-end of a news report on BBC TV news that Citroen were going to 'make the DS again'. Nothing on the Citroen web-site but I do remember seeing some scoop photos in a French car mag a year or so ago, which I dismissed as nationalistic overload on the part

I couldn't find any reference to this on HJ so here it is. Faced with the reliability problem of the 1.2 PureTech belt, Citroën, DS, Opel and Peugeot have implemented a new warranty extension of up to 10 years or 175,000 km since March 19, 2024. https://www.largus.fr/actualite
  • Citroen DS - Any experience? 13 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I'm kind of thinking that I've got a lot of enjoyment out of my two Rover P6's that it might be time to move on to a new challenge. I've always liked the Citroen DS. My own knowledge is a bit patchy but I know that I'll probably go for a 21 Super 5 as it's by far the most popular one sold
  • DS the early years 28 Jul 2021 (Forum)
Fair to say the Citroen DS is an icon of car design and it also probably wouldn't surprise many people to learn that such a complex car (for its time) had some teething problems. But after reading an article (Classic & Sports Car, June edition) on one of the oldest surviving DS's, I learned

  • Retromobile (Parisian Classic Car Show) 6 Oct 2023 (Forum)
I am off to Retromobile on Sunday. It is in Paris and is presumably why Citroen will announce the new DS on Thursday (the opening day of the exhibition). Is anyone also going on Sunday?
  • The greats... 28 Jan 2002 (Forum)
This made my day (it's raining), I just saw a pristine Citroen DS with pre-suffix plates (so that makes it over 40). It still looks the business. Most modern stuff will look rubbish by the time it's 4!

I have inherited a set of 25 road test reports from "The Motor" dated 1960 / 1961. They cover a range of cars such as Renault  R8, Citroen DS and Safari, Hilman Husky. If anyone is interested in them I would be happy to post them on as a single batch.
