  • any - Covert motorway speed cameras 5 Feb 2014 (Forum)
The press have been suggesting that covert speed cameras are to be introduced on motorways to enforce the 70 mph limit. This seems an easy way for our cash strapped Government to make even more cash out of motorists. The effects I imagine once everyone knew about such cameras would be a procession of cars, vans, motorbikes etc moving like an army of ants.
  • Speed camera detectors advice please 4 Jun 2010 (Forum)
The Novus Piccolo and Inforad K1 seem to be popular.  I just want them to do the essential thing of alerting me in the vicinity of a fixed camera but I don't want to be constantly reminded if I drift over the speed limit in a camera free stretch and I seem to get the impression that they do that.  Any help please?
  • Overhead Signs 7 Nov 2006 (Forum)
They don't look like speed cameras, they seem to small to be traffic cameras, they seem too large to be sensors.
  • Adieu Speed Cameras 18 Aug 2010 (Forum)
According to the Sunday TImes, speed cameras are likely to be axed, starting with Oxfordshire. That sounds good as long as they retain ones in accident black spots. The fact that they will no longer be subsided means they will have to think harder about whether or not they are needed.

  • Pedestrian crossing cameras 27 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Due to road changes, several sets of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings in my area have been renewed and each supplied with about 6 cameras. Some of these point down at the crossing, some up and down the road. What are they for?
  • Sign with speed camera symbol and the word Stealth 12 May 2008 (Forum)
At the start of the A157 going from the Louth bypass to Wragby there is a road-side sign with a symbol of a speed camera, underneath which is the word "Stealth". What is this sign intended to convey to a motorist?

  • Review: Roadhawk HD-2 dash camera 17 Jan 2018 (Forum)
The RoadHawk HD is an excellent camera, I've had one for 3 years with no issues. The HD2 however is an entirely different story. The footage at Super HD is superb, however I've now had 3, yes THREE cameras fail after a week of use and refusing to power on.
  • Jaguar F-Type Convertible - Jaguar F-Type Reversing Camera 4 Jun 2016 (Forum)
The camera in my daughter's F-Type is all but useless and I'm wondering if something is wrong with it. The screen shows the usual markings for distance and the dotted line for very close. However the camera makes distances look enormous when in reality they are anything but.

  • New Sneaky Cameras on A 12 8 Feb 2007 (Forum)
They are just going to take our hard-earned cash instead! This is just the latest case of blatant profiteering from the countries "safety camera" partnerships. Our information tells us that these new cameras are going 'live' from Monday (12th February). The speed limit for the tunnel is 30 mph northbound and 40 mph southbound.

  • Yet more cameras 25 Feb 2008 (Forum)
According to the BBC website a new camera is to be trialled in Leeds to check how many people are in a car. It is proposed to use this to monitor car sharing lanes, a concept the government is keen to expand upon because it is cheaper than building roads.
  • self calibrating speed cameras 21 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I have been zapped by a camera van, on teh A11 in norfolk. This happened on good friday, and i got my notice yesterday. Apparently I was doing 83 in a 70. May well be true, I can't recall. I was interested to read the bumf that came with the NIP, particularly where it said that the cameras effectively calibrate themselves when they are switched on, and are only checked once a year.
  • The Speed Camera Thread - Volume 29 11 Mar 2005 (Forum)
I got flashed by what I think was a truvello camera the other day. It was a camera that faced me, with a small number of closely spaced white lines on the road. Thing is though, I thought truvellos used an infrared flash that isn't visible, which is why they can face you.
