I bought a C5x new last year. I need the CofC as I am going to register the car in France. However I never received one and this has only come to light due to my move abroad.

Tried to check the oil level on my neighbour’s Aygo and it appeared to be stuck. She was going on a long journey so didn’t dare to yank it in case it snapped off. Any ideas please? Do you have to twist it/turn it on this model or something? It’s about three years old. Read more
It’s just a pull out stick . Give it a slight twist In each direction may just release the stick.,
Seems the Welsh Government are seriously intent on imposing a blanket 20 mph speed restriction in residential areas. Read more
Maybe Barney missed it, but this topic has been pretty thoroughly worked over on this forum. A thread on a very similar topic: www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=194302

Didn't think of that, though I should have. Perhaps I didn't because I've only ever had cars that would require you to cut the filter open to examine its contents, but maybe this one has a removable filter element. A relatively straightforward post-incident check.
TBH it sounds rather bad, though of course I havn't seen it....

I put a reservation down for a Hyundai i20 ex demonstrator through Evan Halshaw. I had to pay £349 delivery for the car to brought up to my local EH plus £99 deposit. I said to the salesman I want to test drive it before buying (The branch in England said I'd have to buy from them before delivery which put me off)
The salesman said they can deliver the car but if I didn't take it then I'd be charged the delivery fee although I'd get my deposit back. ... Read more
I think this is the case
If a car bottomed out, what parts would be damaged other than say the suspension links, would the shocks go as well? (Near side or off side). Read more
8s this about driving a car down a hole in the road in Essex? If so, it's quite hard to imagine why a shock absorber on the offside would be damaged by the nearside wheel going down a hole. I suppose the ARB could send a bit of force that way, but it's unlikely that the offside of the car would hit the ground before the sump did.
My daughter has a 72 reg i10 in their standard “Mangrove Green” colour. It’s about 7 months old and the paint around the exhaust is a discoloured yellow. I took it into a dealer and they checked the emissions which were normal and they said the damage/discolouration is due to “external factors” (they mentioned “the weather”!). This is clearly ludicrous, given the staining is only in the area above the exhaust and nowhere else.
Assuming it’s not emissions, then one can only assume it’s an issue with the paint (we paid extra for “paint protection”) - but how can one get that checked independently, assuming Hyundai are denying responsibility? Read more
Certainly wasn’t when it was new (about Feb), and my daghter doesn’t live at home so I only spotted it recently.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can improve the emissions on my vintage VW Beetle the car has failed MOT on Emissions only.. it runs lovely no rust has lots of new parts including a 3-4 year old cat. Its had redex and the premium petrol always E5 the only thing it hasn’t had for a while is a new exhaust system. but I don’t want to pay for a whole new exhaust system if it will make no difference to the emissions because as far as I can see the exhaust looks good .. will changing it make a difference Read more
2000 is "vintage" now? Dont think so, especially not in the context of VW Beetles
If this is the Golf-based "neo-Beetle" it'll be burdened with a catalytic converter. so a "new exhaust" might well make a difference, though probably not necessary....
Hello everyone,
I have had a bit of a car vibration issue in the front + steering wheel in my Infiniti Q30 but can't seem to figure out why even after getting a few opinions from different garages. Your thoughts would be most appreciated.... Read more
