As from 1st October ORB will be hanging up his Moderator's cap in order to pursue other projects in his retirement. I know some of you will comment that he's come and gone before but this time it's final - at least as far as moderating is concerned. ORB has some cataract ops coming up and this will mean a good period of downtime and the Consultant's advice is to severely limit screen time. Hopefully he will still contribute as a 'normal' member when his eyesight allows.

When I drive at higher speeds, such as 40-50mph then use my brakes, I will then proceed to hear a squealing noise coming from the passenger side, most likely from the brakes, but only when the car is in motion, not during braking. The noise then goes after I turn the car off/ park for a few minutes. What could be causing this? Read more
If it’s doing it after you have used the brakes a calliper may be sticking.

Many years ago I had a hatch with metal backs to the seats. To stop stuff rattling I stuck some carpet to the metal with contact adhesive. That would hide the existing scratches and prevent it happening again.

An MOT test is a quick check of the general condition and safety of a vehicle. The MOT emissions test has nothing in common with the comprehensive emissions testing carried out by vehicle manufacturers to meet the requirements for vehicle type approval. ...
