Hi, Id like some advice before contacting the seller.
I bought a 63 plate BMW x1, it came with a new mot and a three month warranty. I've had it a few weeks now and have noticed small patches of oil on my drive. When I went through the mot paperwork I noticed it says it has a small oil leek but nothing to be worried about. The car cost £7000. ... Read more
Hello! First time post but long time reader of this great forum.
I am 42 and suffering from terrible back pain that seems to more onset when sitting in a car seat - something about the knees being above the hip/pelvis that triggers nerve pain. I seem to prefer cars with a more chair like driving position.... Read more
SIJ fusion would be a last resort for me and 3 years on from my back issue its settled down a little and I have learnt to live with it...
V wise. I have always been sceptical about alleged SI joint dysfunction and operative work done to 'cure' it. The sacroiliac joint is fused anyway as part of the very stable bowl of the pelvis....
Hi all
I'm currently on the search fir new car and just want to hear your recommendations. ... Read more
I'm just about to scrap a Seat Ibiza which I've had for 11 years ...
Are you 'scrapping' it unavoidably, or just looking for something different ? If you have kept the car that long, presumably it has been 'reliable', or is it starting to cost money ?...
I am looking to buy an economical small car for under 5k, not that technical when it comes to cars but know the basics, looked at suzuki swift and they look like a shout? Just cannot decide if I should go private which is cheaper or to a dealer which is going to cost more?
I am in Cumnock, east ayrshire, seen this at local dealer.... tinyurl.com/gramfin... Read more
Apropos of nothing really, a guy I know lives in central Rome. He’s super-rich, owns a multi-million turnover fashion business.
His daily transport is a Harley Davidson, but he keeps an old Panda for when it’s raining. He’s had many a “posh” car but he lost patience with them being stolen or damaged in the city. Says no one touches his little Fiat which suits him fine.
I like Pandas too by the way. Always have.
I have a car on PCP which is going back to the dealer very soon and as it has equity of around £2k I'm looking to get a used car for around £2.5k.
I am not fussy about make or model and the only requirement I have is that is has a center arm rest (a shoulder issue means not having one makes driving no fun at all...) and an estate/hatch would be preferable to allow a doggo to come for a drive.... Read more
We could recommend loads of different cars, but it all depends on what’s actually for sale nearby. Tell us roughly where you are and I’ll have a look for worthy examples wishing sensible range.
Hello. I hold a driving license of my country and I am planning to buy and drive a car for 12 months in UK on international driving license.
But my driving license has wrong date of birth printed on it. (But the driving license has my photo on it)
Does it matter while buying car and insurance?
Also while applying for insurance what should I mention as my date is birth? Original or as per license?
Thank you.

It’s actually copied from national license. The national license has a wrong DoB.
My French pal's Clio windscreen washers don't work. I thought it might be something simple like blocked jets or a blown fuse, but sadly not. We have inspected the fuse which looks fine - even swapped it for another just to check it. But still no whirring noise from either the front or rear washer pump motors. I think it must be electrical, but he has no tester. I wondered if anyone here has any ideas? I can't find anything helpful on the Renault forum. The pump was replaced in 2017, so it should be OK, as it's done few miles since then. Read more
Thanks elekie-doc, the single pump does indeed do both. I eventually found a video of how to dismantle the steering column switch - which fortunately we didn't attempt as it didn't solve the video maker's problem. The next, and most obvious diagnosis in our case, was a seized pump; presumably a not uncommon occurrence in cars which stand idle much of the time. The video went on to show how to access the pump behind the front wheel arch cover and dismantle it. It was indeed seized; filled with rusty gunk. It just needed a good clean and it now works perfectly......and I feel slightly less indebted to our non-mechanical host as I guess the local garage would have just replaced it with a new one. A good example of 'if you don't use it you'll lose it'.
Hello One and All,
These days of high fuel, it is shame that people only use the car for shopping and work, so I wanted to share this with you guys, so grab a coffee sit back, and enjoy. According to the sat nav this road is 1'600 feet above sea level. Read more
Apologies guys here is the video, yes there are private roads, but so much less then the south coast, and yes private land as well but they still let people walk there.
Just because there are footpaths or because it's access land and people can walk it isn't a reason to allow land and minor roads/byeways to be available for motor vehicles. ...

Having done some research I understand that only larger electric cars can be fitted with a towbar. It seems the ID3 / Kona size can’t because of battery weight / range / too much pressure on running gear.
I only want to tow a small trailer to the refuse tip occasionally and a small lightweight dinghy twice a year.
Any idea on what I could buy to fit the bill ?
Thanks
Stuart
similarly a Toyota BZ4X can tow 750Kg
I see endless posts here from owners of Ford cars about obtaining the radio code.
I'm thinking about buying a used Focus / C-Max and would like to know where the radio code should have been recorded when the vehicle was new ?... Read more
Mine's typed on a credit card sized thing in the owner's pack. I think it's also in the audio booklet as well. If you do need a code then one of the helpful members will undoubtedly assist!

Did you buy it from a trader? If so (forgetting the warranty) you have consumer rights for up to
6 months, if local then if the trader is good he may well help you out. But I would clean up the affected area and see how bad it is, may just be a few drops
