Hi all,
I'm interested in buying an old Luton van for storage for a few months and a small number of trips in connection with a house move. I'm looking at models in the 12-15 year old range with lowish (for that age of van) mileage of 150-180k. I can't get any helpful pricing, does anyone know where to look? Are there any van-specific forums I could check? I've seen a 2010 Iveco luton van for £4k that looks in reasonable condition (the seat / steering wheel look OK and the interior isn't completely wrecked). That seems like a lot of money for an old junker but perhaps that's what they cost? Any views? Thanks!! :) Read more
Hi,
This may be of interest, I have a nephew up north who is looking for a van and he asked my opinion on this.
It’s at a local auction and the buyers fees are reasonable
It appears to be a scrap metal companies van and no doubt with the MOT due up in August they are expecting it to need some considerable work to pass, which is pretty normal for these transits, especially the rust issues.

My advice was to avoid it like the plague unless it goes cheap (under £500) as you can expect to spend £500 to get it through the MOT before you consider any mechanical issues it may have.
I have seen a new electric cars with the green strip on the plate.

There has always been climate change, the ice age, huge dinosaurs in the rain forests of Scotland. The climates always changing, always has, there have been huge weather related disasters throughout history. The summer of darkness, the West Country losing thousands in floods. Science is a mixed blessing, they find cures for diseases and invent bombs to kill us all. Their data is distorted to try to influence us.
There has always been climate change, just nothing like what is happening now due to human influence.
Anyone know what type of automatic gearbox is in the current Kia picanto 1.0 petrol?

What a shame
Thank you for the replies
A taxi supervisor told me that apart from the earlier 405 and 406 most taxi firms choose other makes because they prefer cars that are designed for RHD and not converted LHD.
The reason I ask is that my partner recently broke her left wrist and now back driving she is struggling with the biased gear change on her Captur which favours LHD drivers who use their right hand for gear changes. Read more
There are several reports of Merc GLC RHD models suffering from steering judder on full locks. It does not happen on LHD models.

Or you could go a size up for a bit more space, safety and a marginal economy drop.
Worth mentioning I think that the size up tend to offer a reach adjustable steering wheel, while it's very difficult to find a city car with one. I didn't think I'd need it until I drove an otherwise very nice & nippy 90ps Up!; I've got a knee problem at the moment and I couldn't get my leg un-bent enough without being too far from the (fixed) wheel.
One for Elekie doc.

I’m currently looking for a 7 seater car and I’ve seen quite a few Japanese import which fit the bill but I’m just wondering if I would have problems in the future when trying to maintain or repair an imported car. A friend of a friend had a JDM Subaru a good few years back.
Mechanical bits were, in the main, common to UK models - the problem came when the car needs other parts such as body panels, plastic bits such as lamps, plastic covers etc etc. He had the car for 3/4 years. ...

Whatever we do , it has to be affordable for the average working man. No point in worrying about climate change if you cant afford to get to work to earn and keep a roof over your head and feed your family. EVs are unaffordable for most.
