Another example is the Ford Galaxy handbrake fix which costs £35 and takes 30 minutes to fit against a whole day at the Main Dealer.
And the improvement on the eBay fix for a C4 glovebox using a bath plug which XBR believes is a bit of an improvement.
May be interested in the EGR blanking kit at some stage too.
I have a 2005 VW Transporter 1.9 tdi that I have had and used for work for a few years now and it is getting close to 185k miles and a few things are starting to fall apart/off.
I have been offered a job. Hooray! However it means two or so 3 hour round trip motorway commutes a week and maybe a little tooing and froing when I am there. I do not want to move the kids or lose the house where we live currently so am accepting some hassle and working away certainly for the next little while.... Read more

Ah, fair enough!. I do have a Caddy 2.0 SDI myself, with all of a giddy 70bhp(!). It isn't too bad though, and i don't drive fast anyway....
There used to be a very good feature on the Telegraph's website for getting leasing quotes.
One could select the desired car, mileage etc and get quotes from many different leasing companies - a bit like the insurance quote services online. ... Read more
Not in the UK I know, but a lot of bad habits seem to migrate across the pond eventually.

Local BIBs have sent a warning about catalytic converters being stolen, in particular Toyota Prius/Auris/Yaris, Honda Jazz, Lexus RX400 and Hyundai Tucson.
Looking for some advice after searching the internet over and over for answers.
The STOP light on the dash started to flicker on and off around a year ago. For 6 months now it is on constantly when the A/C is on, but goes off when I switch the A/C off. The passenger side radiator fan kicks in and out on what seems to be a high speed when the A/C is on, but not when the A/C is off. The temperature gauge stays around 75 degrees all the time, except if I'm towing, it can rise if going up a long steep hill with a heavy load.... Read more
Did you clean the other earths? There's one hidden below the battery tray if memory serves.
Electric Cars.
The motor industry is misrepresenting the reality of ownership of an EV especially smaller cars.
The purchase price is manipulated by taking the battery out and placing it on lease. However when you come to sell the only buyers available are the brand dealer or private. WBAC and the like wont touch it neither will general garages or other brand dealers as they get stuck with the battery lease cost until they sell it. So a very large % of the resale market is not available. The brand dealers know this so screw you on price! No one tells you this till its too late, especially the motor industry and Government who have an agenda. The second issues is when key parts (their are only 3 really) go wrong out of warranty which is an issue starting to occur for buyers. The parts like the battery charger are not built for repair but replacement. In theory this is good until you find a new charger for example costs more than the residual value of the car!! So its completely uneconomic to buy it but unless you do you have a useless metal lump sitting on the drive. Again funny enough this is also never covered when magazines, reviewers or the motor industry talk about EV ownership. So be aware as great as the move to EV might be the industry is yet again less than honest lets hope this less than straightforward and necessary move isn't diesel MK2 Read more
Second those envelop batteries, been using them for years and my old gen ones are still going strong.

Thanks for coming back to us to confirm the code worked.
It was a quick response - but it just depends who is looking in at the forum and when. I was at the computer and just happened to check. Several of us can do Ford radio codes....

You can actually check on the state of a cars insurance yourself, but yes they all have access to the same database to make sure that people do not insure the same car with more then 1 insurer and then claim of all of them if the car gets wrecked.

On Alfa Giulias, my advice to anyone thinking of buying one, would be to try both the 200hp and 280hp engines before deciding which one, you'll probably decide for yourself that the performance difference is quite small. I've had many fast cars, and my 200hp Giulia is a lovely thing, and plenty fast enough for me. There's a possibility that Alfa understate their power outputs, an independent Dutch test found that a standard "200hp" car actually had about 230hp, and that's pretty much what it feels like to me, mine is significantly livelier than the 3.2 V6 Mercedes E Class that immediately preceded it. Sure, a 280hp Alfa Giulia is an even nicer car, better equipped and slightly faster, but I warn you that it's not as nice around town or on poor surfaces, low profile run-flats on larger rims are the reason for that. Also, a car with the 280hp engine is thousands more expensive than the 200hp one, they cost only very slightly less than £40,000, a single option would put one into the higher road tax bracket, which is something worth considering. My Giulia is one of the nicest cars I've owned, but do try both versions before you buy, I think you'll be surprised.
My brake fluid reservoiur has some sort of gauze filter in the top of it, so you can't remove any.
