Such a thing as a plaque might make quite a difference when the vehicle is 40 years old, if the model has developed a cult following like hot older Fords have of late.
VW's had a quite a scene going with the hipsters for a long time, maybe explains why those same? ageing hipsters spend absolute fortunes on VW campers and Transporter based MPV's of all ages, but is the youngsters scene still with the VW cars or has that moved on to other makes, it's not my scene and i genuinely do not know.

Yes. Just to confuse people in the future, the DVLA introduced the changes a month after the '17' plate came out.
So a '17' plate can be on either system. Only way to check is via the V5 or go to ...
The remote locking controller packed up this monring on the main key, but the spare remote works OK. I've changed the battery on the faulty unit but this makes no difference.
The manual says you can reprogramme these remotes in the ignition barrel by holding one button down with the ignition on for 1 second. So if I buy a second hand key can I do this to reporgramme/match the 'new' head?... Read more
Got the replacement key and tried leaving the iginition on with one key, locking the drivers door manually with the other whilst pressing either the lock/unlock button on the 'new' remote, expecting the horn then to beep or hazards to flash, and the 'new' remote to reset. No horn, no reset.
Anything else to try before the auto locksmith?...

That car is 12 years old. Does the comment about the washer fluid / pump failure cause and effect still hold true for BMWs manufactured during the last five years, or even 'today'?
