Where is the Hyundai i20 which starts at £9,995? Read more
Bought my car around 2 months ago, its a 16 plate fiesta ecoboost and had done around 2000 miles when I bought it. Have now done around 2200 miles in it, so decided to check fluid levels. The oil is showing it way over the max, like 10-12mm! Am I being stupid here and missing something? I checked it 4 times when cold and on level ground. Im now concerned I have done some damage to the engine. I would take it back to the ford dealer that I bought it from but they are 60 miles away.
And input would be great, cheers

Overfilling engines with oil is bad for them. Our X reg 1.6Zetec Focus handbook says 'Never fill above MAX mark', probably for a very good reason. Its capacity is 4.25litres.
When I change the oil and filter, usually in summertime, I pour off 1litre from a 5l container and put in the rest. This brings the level nicely between the MAX and MIN mark. By winter, it is nearing the MIN mark and there it stays because the less oil, the quicker the engine warms up. I only top it up with 500mls when it is actually at the MIN mark. At 120,000 it is requiring three such top-ups between changes, which are done every 10- 12,000m or so, irrespective of time (could be up to 2yrs as it doesn't do 12,000m a year) so the engine is still in very good condition....

Apologies, but you need a Ford main agent or one of the paid ebay services for 'V' serial numbers.
Hi there,
I was with my son yesterday at a health club type place. I parked in between two cars. When we left the club several hours later, I noticed a different bright blue car was parked to the right of mine. I then noticed a bright blue scratch/dent on my car, about an inch in height. I look at the other car and then was a scratch from the metal work at exactly the right height as the mark on my car.... Read more
life is too short to get worked up about minor things, sadly this falls into this category. Few weeks ago parked alongside a car in car park, opened the door and a gust of wind caught the door slamming into the adjoining car ... so there is now another little dent on my door to remind of the need to take care when opening doors in windy weather ... lucily it was not when another person walking past!
My 08 plate vectra c has started juddering at 20mph in all gears
Is it a
clutch problem
Gearbox mount
Throttle body
Please can anybody help.
Regards Aaron. Read more
Sounds like DMF and/or clutch thrust bearing.
Hi all,
This is taking more time and effort than I thought it would !
My handbrake cable is held in place by 2 plastic clips..
the one which has snapped is connected to the plastic fuel tank.. (no 2)

Looking at how no 2 clip was attached,
it seems to have been melted into the tank...
Anywho, a cunning plan formed ;)
and I got a talon clip from the plumber's merchant for 12p
and tried epoxying it & supergluing it...
(roughing both surfaces first)
and neither are holding the clip on very well !
Part of the problem, I think?,
is that the plumbering clip is polypropylene
which is hard to glue to...

I'm not sure if the plastic fuel tank is polyethylene ?
Anyone any ideas?
I'm thinking of using a metal clip and trying to glue that on...
dunno if metal is allowed under a fuel tank
or if it'll even stick.to the tank..
I asked at Peugeot , and the clips are part of the fuel tank
...so it's a replacement fuel tank, otherwise..
Dunno, if it is a MOT fail as is, with the cable ties...?
Cheers
