hi there dont really know where to begin, at the start of december on an hour long break from work i decided to go round my girlfriends and say hello,
upon arriving there, there was no space on her drive at all so i decided to park on the left side of the road as ive done countless times before. so i parked up and walked in to see her. ... Read more
I ordered car mats online from www.valuecarmats.com after looking through forums on where to buy after marker car mats. Sadly even after nearing 2 months, I haven't received anything from this dealer. I've contacted them through emails multiple times and obtained no response. They don't have a telephone number either advertised on their website. The only number that they have is not in use anymore.
More peculiarly, now I can't even access their website anymore and seems like even their email is not working because I don't get an automated email back immediately saying that they have received my message.... Read more
I tend to buy most things like this from Amazon who always step in when things go wrong , even with third party sellers.
Once you signup to Prime lots of items arrive post free, and generally next day if it is a prime product.
It must be very difficult for competitors to match this excellent service.
oh yes i noticed £8 next to the 75% level, ex vat it would have been.
i do mixed driving everyday not just town but perhaps not long enough on duel carrigway so that's it for me and Diesels i think, and main dealer servicing....
Yes I've got the same happening on my GLC43 with staggered 21" tyres. it is being dismissed as normal, my supplying dealer service department didn't even want to look at the vehicle and just tried to give me the telephone number of Mercedes UK so they can explain why this is deemed 'normal'.
I'm not new to cars, I really like my GLC43 in other ways, but it is embarrassing to drive it around with people looking and pointing at the clonking and juddering of the wheels when parking up, when turning into my road, and when taking a roundabout.
Just not acceptable. Read more
Has anyone got firm responses from MB about the ongoing slow lock juddering? we have a C43 estate, its truly awful with this issue but our dealer tells us MB has fixed the issue on GLC’s but its unfixable on rhd C43’s and remains a “characteristic” of the car!
I read the press articles recently about learner drivers receiving lessons on Motorways and don't think this is a bad idea but it so much depends on who is with them and of course the use of a dual controlled car as those first moments entering the three or four lane carriageway could be very daunting.
However, what is the difference between this and driving on a three lane road such as the North Circular around London which is very similar to a motorway in terms of structure? Even if the top speed on this road is 50mph this is still faster than most learners have been used to.
I have seen appalling driving on this particular road and people regularly do 60-70mph on stretches where there are no cameras. A learner would find this very scary but it would also make them aware of how this particular road has variable limits so there are quite a few issues to deal with.
Have just given this as an example and am sure that around the country there are other roads that are not motorways but are structured in a very similar manner.
Given the way weather affects drivers I wonder whether it would be more useful to give learners training on a simulator showing the effects of severe fog on a road? Anyway, anything that helps people improve their road skills is to be applauded. Read more
Exactly Mi16, we have duel carriageways to use that can give learners drivers a real taste of motorway driving, why is society in so much of a rush to let them lose on the motorways, most trucks use motorways, and do we really want learners drivers forcing them into dangerious situations.
Ww have all seen what happens when they are involved in a collision.
I had to call the AA yesterday when smoke / steam started billowing from my engine. Turns out the coolant pipe had burst, which I'm told, could have had a bigger impact on my engine.
On checking FordETIS website, turns out there's a recall on my vehicle, and has been since April 2015. I didn't buy the car until August 2016. Should the garage that sold it to me not have checked there were no outstanding recall notices?... Read more
Same post as on another thread. Once is enough.
I purchased a Peugeot 108 on 10/12/16 with 335 miles on the clock this was entered onto the sales invoice.
I was told the car would be serviced and ready for collection on 13/12/16.. I collected the car as arranged.... Read more
"I have all written assurances from the dealers with written confirmation from Peugeot that the full manufacturers warranty is valid.
The "back to the future" service book is to be returned to have all the correct information added and the next service will be provided free of charge."
Good work and good on the dealer for fixing things properly. These are great wee cars and you've now got the assurance that the warranty will be honoured and a free service too.
Yesterday while reversing the car off the drive I heard a squeeking / light grinding noise. For the next couple of miles of driving the noise disappeared but then returned, albeit less noisy.
We had the rear brake pads changed about 500 miles ago (Honda parts). ... Read more

Hi all,
My boss bought a recon engine for his Kia Sorento a few months back and was asked to pay a £500 deosit until they got his engine. He received the supposed recon engine and was then told that his own engine was unservicable so he wouldn't be getting his £500 deposit back or his original engine. He is quite (too) trusting and thought nothing of it. When he then had the car serviced a short while after he asked the garage to get the engine number so he could tell the dvla, only to be told there was no need to as it's the original engine number already listed!... Sounds like one of the dodgy engine companies to me. I would never use them, far better to buy an engine from a salvage yard that has removed it from a crashed car.
Thanks for the link ORB. The comments were presumably written by a cross-section of the local population.
I found some of the comments after the newspaper article sad and hilarious at the same time!

My parents said that too, and rightly so: they paid for me to have advanced driving lessons after my test. But it was also my parents who got me into the habit of leaving the car in gear when parked and always starting with the clutch down.
A lot of modern cars can't be started unless the clutch is down, as with the brake on automatics....
