Can anyone shed any light on the fact that my Audi has a life of its own. When the ignition is off the starter still turns the engine over & will only stop when the battery is disconnected. I have disconnected the ignition plug on the steering column & problem is still there when the battery is connected.... Read more
Can anyone explain the DRL / parking light bulbs on the VW Up 2014 model ? The same tungsten bulb seems to be used as a daytime driving light and as a parking light. Does it have a double filmament or does it work at a lower voltage when used as a parking light ?

I found a demonstration of changing the bulb in YouTube. It suggests that the bulb is a double filament W21/2W, which I think is a stop and tail light.
I will be taking the car in to the garage for check and any necessary work but would like some ideas before going.
I have become aware of a 'whirring' (fairly faint) from the engine when driving. If I depress the clutch it stops. Any suggestions of cause appreciated. Read more
Cheers Skidpan - ouch ! I agree very much with last paragraph. Hopefully if someone is in tomorrow I'll get it checked straight away otherwise Tuesday.
Needing to go across the country on Thursday so hopefully, since I use them, the garage will be accommodating....

obviosily the starter feed to the solinoid is live all the time check out relay and ignition switch with a multi meter ,disconect the main starter lead first then do the tests , hope it helps !
