Before Christmas I had a letter from Toyota to say that on Aurises there is a risk of short circuiting in the driver's window switches, and the car would be recalled to put this right. They said they would contact me again soon. Since then I've heard nothing more. Does anyone know anything about this, or even had the work done?

Hello. My Jeep requires a fair bit doing to get through the MOT this year and $1000 worth of panels soon after. Time for a refurb. I have imported a few bits from the US jeep parts specialists 'Quadratec' in the past but with such a large spend am I at the mercy of Customs and Excise? Has anyone had experience of of larger shipments and specifically the amount of import duty charged when in the UK? Read more

Bought a PHEV from VW main dealer on the 8th, car had been on charge since the Saturday but despite it being Monday had not charged at all which I was notified of after signing all the paperwork.
Dealer has admitted all of the above by email.
Took the car home (250miles)to discover it hadn't charged because it was broken, took to the local dealership who had no joy fixing it. I emailed the dealership declaring my rejection which they verbally accepted, car was fixed another day or two after verbally accepting my rejection and now it is fixed they are refusing to accept rejection of the car.... Sounds like you need a new charging unit.A friend works at VW and they have changed 10 chargers out of 10 GTE's sold.

I am looking at buying a new SUV type vehicle as more comfortable to enter and I like raised position.
Looking at several different makes (Honda, Kia, Hyundai, BMW,Volvo etc,) it seems that unless you go for the basic model, there is rarely any option except to accept large often 18 or 19 inch wheels and skinny tyes. Thus less comfort than say 16 inch wheels and more risk of damage to tyre and wheel if hit a pothole.... Read more
I would certainly agree about the wheels. I wasn't even keen on getting a later Peugeot 406 because they have 16" wheels instead of 15". The ride of many modern cars is abominable, the manufacturers seem to think that everyone wants to go round corners at 60mph.
I have driven hydropnumatic Citroens for the last 30 years and the ride is superb although the C5 isn't as good as the XM was, they seem to have stopped making them altogether now.

Ive had this car a few weeks and this morning I noticed the temperate gauge go from its normal of 65 to nearly 80. once I turned on the vents and opened a window it seemed to bring it down. On my way to work this morning it slowly rose to 80 again but suddenly dropped to its usual 60 while still moving. Ive recently had it serviced ( 1 week ago) any ideas please. Read more
As others have said, it could be just the thermostat. Although that was the option I went for first and it turned out to be the temperature sensor :)
