Now the evenings are darker, are we any safer from the curse of speed cameras on the gantries over the motorways? I haven't seen them flashing so much on my daily run around the north western part of the M25. And on the other roads, I've not seen any camera vans aiming to catch evening commuters. Any thought? oh for those far off half remembered halcyon days when one could safely make one's disagreement clear with a secondhand angle grinder
Now there are cameras on cameras....
Hey everyone. So I have a 2003 Ford Focus which has been running absolutely fine, no warning lights or anything until the other day. Suddenly the Airbag warning light appeared and has stayed on ever since. I have checked the wiring underneath the seats, and have discovered that my puppy the little rascal, has chewed right through the plastic tubing under the passenger seat, and has chewed straight through the wires. Tere are 2 wires now showing, a blueish one and a greenish one.
Just wanted to get abit of advice really, on how to go about fixing it. I called an airbag specialist in my area, and he quoted me £60! and that would be to "reset the light, and fix the wires with insulation tape".Is this a job I can do myself? Anything particular to be careul of? Or is it best left to a professional? I have attached a link so you can see a photo of how it is. Any advice will be much appreciated.... Read more
I'd agree with lekie, but would suggest you use shrink wrap not PVC tape. When the interior of the car gets hot in the summer the pvc tape simply can't hack it and will peel, dry out and come off.
The airbag won't go off if the key is out of the ignition. Those horror stories are just that, horror stories. I'd advise disconnecting the battery for good measure all the same.

There are normally only two causes of bulb failure, one is over voltage but you won't get that just on one lamp, the other is excessive vibration, if niether of those are the problem you must have had a batch of duff bulbs. I always use 'Ring' bulbs, very reasonable from ebay.

Bawzey,
For radios whose Serial Number begins with a "V", followed by a six digit number, I'm afraid there is no Keycode generator available for you to work out the code yourself....
Some years back There we were returning home after a night at the theatre, and haring down the mororway noticed a hgv container truck weaving a bit and slowing down gently. Eventually he stopped, and when I got out to investigate (the motorway was pretty empty) opened the drivers door and he fell out onto me.

When I was driving south on the M1 north of Chesterfield I followed a lorry for several miles. The lorry was weaving about, on and off the hard shoulder. My passenger saw my concern and asked why I didn't pass the lorry. I replied that I would rather that I followed the lorry than he followed me. I don't know whether the driver was tired or drunk, but the effects were the same.

Couple of possibilities:-
A)Oil seal failure of the turbo - engine run-away running on the oil. Check for oil on the air intake side after the turbo...
I've had the turbo replaced on my 407 Hdi, I, after lack of power , I tested it some time ago with a gauge and found there was no pressure, the old turbo looked in pretty good condition on inspection after removal, and the new turbo seems to make not a lot of difference, all hoses are good. It drives very well , just flat on acceleration.
