Hello folks,
I'm currently doing front brake pads on 09 Seat Ibiza with FSIII calipers. The caliper pins on one side were stuck and far too tight, eventually got them loose however they are now spinning without coming out. ... Read more
Sounds like you may be correct, the threads have stripped in the calliper. Can you remove the complete calliper and carrier from the hub, this may give more space to lever the two halves apart while undoing the 7 mm bolt?
I live in Cheshire and in recent years speed limits in around the town have been cut on virtually every single road, duel carriageways were the speed limit that had a 70 speed limit have been cut to 50 or even 40, single carriageways have had their speed limits cut to 40 and road markings introduced forbidding overtaking, roads that had 40 limits are now 30 and many 30 per hour limits have been cut to 20. Yet their has been silence as to how much safer are these roads.
So when will these experiments with the speed limits come to an end, how do we know they have succeeded or failed and what will happen in the future further cuts in sped limits?... Read more
It all seems a bit weird, unless they think that a speeding fine has a low overhead, and a high resulting income, hence is preferred.
Nail on head!...
Hi. In the 1990s a lot of people found it cheaper to buy cars in ireland and personally import. Does anybody know if savings can still be made by doing this today? Read more
Honda Pan-European warranty can be extended by two years wherever the car is bought.
I have somehow managed to aquire a mk1 clio through my boss, just a 1.2 rn I think it is nothing flash, but my question is I have a 2002 kangoo 1.9 van, obviously none of the engine components will fit but are any other bits interchangeable? Ie shocks springs calipers etc?
Thanks in advance Read more
I'd be amazed if anything was common between the 2 models. The van suspension is designed to carry far higher loads than the clio. Even if you could get it to fit, it wouldn't deal with carrying loads and could be dangerous.
Brakes are likely to be a different size too. I think the only compatible things could be the wiper blades or maybe the rear view mirror!...
The noise starts at 50mph or thereabouts and sounds like a vibrational rrrrrrrrr type of noise - consistent, gradually louder with speed, no noticeable vibration in the cabin and stops when the clutch is depressed. It isn't very loud, but it is definitely new! Does anybody have any ideas of what it could be? Read more
thanks for the thinking

I understand the North Orbital at present suffers from severe congestion at times due to bridge works, with lane closures. These are scheduled to finish at the end October, I believe.
However, in normal circumstances the North Orbital is still pretty busy in the rush hours.

As an ex AA Patrol all I'm going to say is that members voted for demutualisation in 1999 and accepted £248 in return for their share of the association. From that day onwards the AA has only ever been interested in profit.
