I've no idea how valid the argument is, but some comment that the specification isn't the same as UK models AND the sell-on value will be greatly reduced.

Aren't cars nowadays more expensice in Eire than in the UK?

Eire cars are much more expensive to buy in Eire as there are huge charges on new cars & the road taxes are eye watering.

However High taxes = lower prices before the tax is added - so Export prices can be lower than UK

Eire is Not as expensive as in Denmark - Ford Focus is £50K+
