I have a 2002 Ford Fiesta 1.3. When accelerating it will hit about 50mph and then get stuck - I can put my foot all the way down on the accelerator and it will not go any faster. It gets stuck for about a minute, then judders and suddenly shoots forward and is fine. I drive around 40 miles on the motorway each day, and it will do this when I accelerate to join, and then usually be fine. It does occassionally do it again after I've been driving for around 30 minutes.... Read more
Could be a blocked exhaust system.Find a garage with an exhaust back pressure tester which will confirm is the system has enough free flow.
Engine runs sweet until you reach optimum temp then it starts to play up for e.g
Stop the car, put it in neutral and soon as you lift the clutch it starts to sound and feel like its misfiring, it sounds like half the engine has stopped and the engine is jumping and shaking.but the weird thing is that if you just simply push the clutch back down then the engine runs sweet again-or if you dont push the clutch down you can turn the air con on and that makes it run ok aswel.... Hi - any advice would be appreciated please - i have recently purchased a Vauxhall Astra H SRI, 1800, on a 2010 plate - the car seemed fine for the first week or so but now, occassionally, i get a fairly loud rattling sound for 2 - 3 seconds on starting up after the car has been sitting, say overnight - no other time and the car drives like a dream after this - the oil light would also flash on and then go off almost instantly - i was advised that the car could need a flush, good service, good oil, new filters and i have had this done and it seemed to be Ok although I am sure that i heard it yesterday (not paying too much attention at the time as i thought the problem had been solved) although it was nowhere near as loud as it had been prior to the service - please help and thank you Read more
If it's not using the correct VX filter, it is probably oil drain overnight from teh filter. Solution is obvious.. fit the proper VX filter.
hello.
i've just had the fun job of replacing the washer pump on my 2003/4 berlingo 2.0 hdi
i've notice that the wiring 'loom' from the front bumper to the pump splits off to another cable with the same standard connector on it.
i'm not sure if it's redundant to this model or i have somehow pulled it off a sensor or something?
i cannot see where it could go to.
anyone know?
thanks.

Could be for front fog lamps or outside temp sensor. If everything works ok,then nothing to worry about.

As Skidpan has suggested, check prices in your region, as my personal experience (daughter's Golf) suggests that some parts of the country ask higher prices than others for a private sale - and possibly dealer sales too.
