My Polo 2008 felt quite lumpy and was stalling on almost every signal and round about if I stopped.
Took it to a mechanic, he changed the timing chain costing me around £500, lumpyness reduced but not gone completely and it started juddering on take offs.... Read more
evening, I have had a starting problem with my grand voyager since I bought it a year ago that has know come to a head. I have had a very random starting problem, where sometimes you get in and it would fire up straight away, but sometimes it would just crank over, I took the key out and started again till eventually it started. It was very random in terms of when it used to do it, it could go minutes, hours or a day with out a problem or it could do it all the time. I have changed the battery to a fancy gel one, two starter motors, crank and cam shaft sensors, new fuel filter and primer part on top. ( when this was changed it was perfect for a week, then all of a sudden back to normal.) since then priming the fuel guaranteed a start. Now nothing works it just cranks and cranks. There is one of the injector tops that's a bit damp and discoloured but when running the car runs perfect. Can anyone advise and help me I am loosing the will with this car I have never loved and hated a car so much at the same time. Tia Read more

If the car starts ok when attached to jump leads, this tends to suggest a problem with the battery, wiring connections or starter motor. Also check the main earth lead where it bolts onto the top of gearbox.
Hello there,
The car submerged in the water last week due to the heavy raining that caused flooding in the underground parking at my company. The car was parking on a gradient therefore only the rear right side of the car was submerged. I was able to open the doors and start the car without any issue as the water was not that high. It seemed to be alright however I noticed after two days that the flooring area is wet but just only at the rear right side. The water must have gotten in the car from the sub-structure. ... Staying getting intermittent and worsening radio reception on my 2011 ST. This is virtually the same car as Audi A4 avant so tracked problem down to a very problematic aerial booster used by Audi, loads about this on Audi forums. SEAT confirm the same part number is available to order for my car. However, the forums all show that the location for the booster in the A4 is under the rearmost headliner. I've taken that down and cannot see a booster. Anyone know where the booster is on a 2011 ST. Part no 8E5035225AF. Read more
I've got an A4 Avant B6, the amp is behind the trim under the back rear passenger side window.
Most of the cargo bay trim has to be removed to get at it.

Try the brake pedal switch. Not sure where its located on your car, but don't be surprised if its in the passenger footwell like it is on Peugeots.

So is it a BMW 1 series or is it an Astra.

You will need a revised cylinder head and engine management software update to fix this.Around £1500 .This engine is a complete disaster.I would sell the car ,it is not worth fixing.
