My Polo 2008 felt quite lumpy and was stalling on almost every signal and round about if I stopped.

Took it to a mechanic, he changed the timing chain costing me around £500, lumpyness reduced but not gone completely and it started juddering on take offs.

The car still stalling intermittently on signals and round abouts unless I rev it to 2k before taking the foot off the accelerator. I am worried that I am destroying my clutch and the engine.

What should I do to get it back to normal like it was a few months ago?

You will need a revised cylinder head and engine management software update to fix this.Around £1500 .This engine is a complete disaster.I would sell the car ,it is not worth fixing.
