Keih in Japan

Hi people i was hoping some1 could shed some light on this problem.

Ive picked up a "low milage" (60,000km-5k) Touran and am about to service it BUT as slkfanboy mentioned in this post (www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=104489) There are two types DSG7 wet clutch and dry clutch. Dry clutches do not need a change and wet clutches.... Read more

Again, that's not a substantive criticism, just an attempt at generalised put-down, which this forum seems to specialise in.

Interesting. I think every single person who has posted on this thread (apart from you) has said that they feel what you've done is a bodge, or words to the equivalent....

Hi, just purchased a 2007 ford focus and I need a code for the radio, serial no.: V026790. I hope someone can help. Thanks Read more

For radios whose Serial Number begins with a "V", followed by a six digit number, I'm afraid there is no Keycode generator available for you to work out the code yourself.

You will either need to visit your local Ford Main Dealer, or there are sellers on Ebay who claim they can supply the Keycodes for "V" Serial Numbers, for a fee.

I love everything about this car.

But my memories of the only Renault car I have owned start alarm bells ringing.

I got to know all the local recovery agents personally.

As people have said they can suffer from niggly electrical gremlins - but mechanically they are reliable - the Renault 1.5DCI is a peach of an engine - with a reliability record VAG would envy. Obviously if you're doing town work then you're better off with a petrol.

I have an old cortina fitted with the 2 ltr pinto engine, its been stood in the garage for about 5 years, decided to run it up and get some use out of it, normaaly I take off the coil to distributer lead turn over the engine until the oil light goes out then I know that oil has circulated before trying to start it. but this time after several attempts I cannot get the oil light to go out or see any pressure on its gauge. I have been told that if I drain out the old oil and put in deisel fuel, turn over the engine again so that the deisel will go round the system and clean out all old oil, and it should make the oil light go out. I am wary of doing this and apart from lifting the engine out and stripping it down to clean it all which is a lot of work. Does this procedure with deisel fuel work?

Hello all I know its some time since posting my Queries on not being able to get the oil up and circulating, I have since taken the engine out. The pump was worn but still worked when oil was put through it, fitted a new pump primed with oil but of coa*** as soon as you bolt it on some of the oil drains because its upside down. put it all back together, filled up the sump with oil, and have discovered that if you leave the dizzy out you can actually see the hexagon drive shaft that the dizzy slots into and drives the pump, if you fit a deep 6mm thin socket and attach to a cordless drill you can then get the pressure up on the oil light and gauge this has worked fine once that was done and with dizzy replaced, the starter engaged and the oil light and gauge registered oil pressure. Job Done!!

Me again, seem to be having one problem after another. Just went for a short run to warm car up from cold for its MOT. During this run noticed black smoke in rear view mirror when accelerating hard after car was at operating temperature. Garage says no faults showing on diagnostic test. No way is it going to pass the MOT like this, was OK before this, and I have also noticed the smell of fumes from air vents which is worrying. Is there anything I can check before handing back to garage, keen to avoid another expensive bill. Coolant temperature guage showing 90 as always.... Read more

Black smoke is to much fuel. Common programs are erg values or maf failure.

First move is to clean the erg and around as these get clogged with oil.
