Had a citigo as courtesy car. Good job they told me it was a petrol as I would have sworn it was a very bad diesel. The vibration at idle was like sitting in one of those vibrating belt waist toning machines.
One word - terrible engine, and I'm normally a vag guy.... Read more
I have the VW Up which is basically the same car. Mine is quiet when idling, so I think you had a duff sample. Most are okay, by all accounts but there are reports of noisy ones.
Regarding quality, journalists give this car the thumbs up, as do I. Mind you, I suppose it depends on what you want. :)
I have an intermittent problem, where I have no power to: Radio, cigarette lighter, indicators (hazzard work!), and wipers.
All fuses are fine.... Read more

Apologies to HJ etc for using an external website. However, I felt this news worthy to post. Taken from Hargreaces Lansdown website.

I suspect it's something in the cut-and-paste in the first post that's causing the problem....
Hello all, about six weeks ago the oil light came on in my 2010 Mazda 6 2.2 Sport while I was on th M6 near Staford, I diched onto the hard sholder and slowed to a stop. I called the AA and got it recovered to a Mazda dealer in Staford, they had a look and said there was a knocking noise from the engine, so the proceeded to remove the sump. They found the metal filings in the sump and diagnosed a replacement engine at £7000. I resorted to searching the web and found this guy, Hagans Autos in Ireland who seems to specialize in Mazda engines. They arranged to have my car collected and brought to Ireland, removed the engine and recondition it, they also reconditioned the turbo and removed the D P F sytem and also returned the car to me. At first I was a bit unsure about sending my car to Ireland, but I could not find any one else who was willing to take the engine repair Job on, so I was basing my decision on there reviews. I just got ther car back last week and its running great, so I am well plaesed with work. The guy I was dealing with is called Colin Hagan and he is very easy to deal with.

A bit slow to respond here, the reality is that I did have my engine replaced over a year ago and it has done over 10,000 miles on the new engine. I actually went to Belfast to collect the car and drove home via the ferry to Caenryan and stopped at the Lake District on the way home. The reality is that this saved me scrapping the car. The big recommendation on this engine is to makes sure you replace the injector washers sat 80k. Appears the previous owners skipped this and the FSH digit make this obvious.
This is not spam, a customer who has used this fixed price offering without any issues. I only weighed in because there is a suggestion that Colin Hagan is not legit. Well I have met him and he is and can probed evidence. Thanks, Geoff
Been having me ear bent by SWMBO, a lady fiend of hers visited today and drove her new Vauxhall (model unknown it was a big un) onto our steep lead in ramp.
When she went to leave she couldn't get it out, not unusual, its quite shocking how many drivers of both sexes can't do a hill start in reverse...quite why they don't reverse onto our drive i can't say but that's not the purpose of the post...so SWMBO as so often reversed the car out for her.... The Renault Talisman the replacement for the Laguna is graet looking car, especially in estate form. A shame neither saloon nor estate will be coming here. For photos you'll have to use a search engine.
Unfortunately not many proper estates are made any more l.e. loading lips, floors sloping/stepped and too much wheel arch/suspension intrusion. Too many lazy car designers, IMO.
I brought the 2010 car from a car marketsuper under 3 weeks ago and I phoned the main dealer acouple of days after to discuss the car and they said it was due a free warranty change of the DSG automatix gearbox oil - so i booked it in. When they did the change they found the twin clutches needed to be changed.
I have experienced the occassional juddering (1st-2nd) and jerky gear changes when in start stop traffic and the car is fully warmed up - not a good ride at all. Ive stopped using the car.... Read more
Fadis - If you post a seperate thread with more info about your problem im sure people will try to help.

Hello. I'm on the look out for a brand new car within the next month. The model I have my eye on has a euro 5 emission standard engine. Am I right (or mistaken) that it has to be registered by the 1st September regardless due to all new cars having to be euro 6 standard from the beginning of next month? Read more
They can't remap, or do anything else, to the engines to make them Euro 6 compatible. They have been manufactured under type approval as Euro 5, and that is it, end of story.
The other problem for manufacturers is that they're also bound by overall CO2 nmbers : basically, they've got to average under a certain figure for all their cars for the year. As such, they're desperate to get really low emission cars out as well, to compensate for the higher emission ones. ...
thank you very much for the help, more power
