Have found, like others here that traffic conditions and parking problems combined with bus lanes and strict parking enforcement has driven me (geddit) onto the local buses for lots of things, so as the bus pass is free i am saving quite a bit and it just happens to be 5 mins to one supermarket and about 15 to the other. even if swmbo comes it is still cheaper than parking in the centre. Colchester isn,t as bad as tooting but it,s less stress to get the bus.

I have a Nissan Micra, Y Reg, Year 2000 model. When I put the fan on in the car, it only runs on the number 4 speed and nothing else. I believe it's called a rheostat. Not a problem, but noisy & gets hot in car. Is it an easy job to put a new one in & does any one have an idea what one would cost. Mainly is it worth all the hassle of doing the job, because I believe you have to take the dash out to repair it.... Read more
Almost definately a problem with the heater resistor. Very common on this age of Nissans. I have repaired two on similar aged Micras and one on a Primera.

I am considering fitting my car with a dashcam and having researched the models available in "Which" and motoring magazines, settled on one costing around £150 in Halfords.
They will fit it for £30 but therein lies the problem. I cannot see how the trim around the winscreen can be easily removed and I am not sure how the warranty would be affected. (The car is 15 months old).... Read more
All the dash cams come with a long power lead that plugs into power socket in the dash/console.Power cannot be taken from interior lights or automirror .I have my camera fixed to the top of screen ,near rear view mirror,with the cable tucked in behind the headlining and the power lead running along top of screen and then down behind door rubber to power socket on dash.This way there is no interference with existing wiring.

I have a 1998 Rav as heading I require the above part, ideally a pattern part, next best is a used one.
It is a part that erodes and I would think I am not the first to want one, I hope somebody will assist.
