Hi there,
I need some advice... I have a 2005 BMW Z4 and it has done about 75k miles, nothing is wrong with it apart from the high milage that I will now be doing to get to work.... Read more
Thank you for your response, I know that keeping and servicing is probably the best thing to do, until I win the lottery that is!
So, what happened to the Hybrid, the 9-speed automatic, 1.0L turbo, 1.5L Turbo?
Now I like CVTs, but mated to a 1.5L screamer is just going to be unpleasant. The rest of the world gets the 1.8L with automatic gearbox. Read more
Headline from today's newspaper: "The traffic department will no longer mount hidden speed traps on single carriage roads"
The head of traffic police in a statement to the parliamentary Road Safety Commission defended the transparency of speed controls and denied that her department had a revenue-raising agenda. Mobile speed cameras will be "visible and for a limited duration, placed at different locations and with a prior warning sign. Fixed and mobile speed cameras will be visible, so that the posted speed limit sign is adhered to.... The ultimate objective is not the speeding ticket."
I almost forgot to mention that this is in Spain, where road safety has improved markedly in the last few years - road deaths have dropped by 80% in under 20 years and, as in Britain, the year 2013 saw the lowest number of fatalities since records began. Read more
Why is it wrong for the police to enforce the law? The law doesn't change depending on whether there is a camera. Why aren't the police allowed to do their job and catch the speeders (using cameras)? Stupid rules!
Doing 100+mph isn't necessarily dangerous on a motorway, but with what I see, even 70mph is too fast for the way many people drive :(
Hi,
we had 2 Nissan Notes as staff pool cars that where getting on (approaching 7 years old). There was nothing wrong with them and they had stood the test of time well, having various drivers drive them across the country often with 4 or 5 passengers in the vehicle.... Read more
My father purchased a Rapid Spaceback 1.2 105bhp TSI to replace a Mazda 2. He looked at the Fabia hatch but much preferred the RS for the narrow build (fits in the garage easily) and superior all round legroom. He also preferred the looks of the RS to the Fabia. I sort of agree with him on that as the RS looks very good from the back (almost Audi estate like) and the front, less so from the side profile. Having driven it I found the engine smooth, handling pretty good, nice dashboard and interior space to be generous. Definitely not a lemon or bad car. I did not like the fiddly touchscreen 'infotainment' system but that is probably me being a bit of a luddite!
Hi all
My husband disconnected the car battery, didn't realise it would kick in the immobiliser! We have lost the immobiliser key .... Any suggestions how to resolve the problem, as can't start car. Read more
Dont know if this will help...
So I have a 1.25 zetec se engined Fiesta with around 64k miles (2002!) Since I bought it, it has been plagued with an inconsistant misfire at all RPM but most noticeable under acceleration/higher (+50mph) speed. I say inconsistant; It doesn't feel like it's missing on one cylinder alone, or that it's missing on the same cylinder all the time.
A quickndirty trawl around the net and I changed the coil pack which has improved but not eliminated the problem however:... Read more
Hi Mike, glad to hear the you have found the problem,I have an interest because a relative owns an old fiesta with the same engine.
I wonder prior to replacing the vacuum pipes were you suffering poor (high) fuel consumption as one of your symptoms ?...
My car is making a knocking noise and the garage aren't interested. The noise happens when I'm slowing down but not using the brake, basically freewheeling, clutch is not depressed.
The knocking is from the front or underneath, its heard for me to tell as I've only partially hearing. ... Read more
No, steering direction doesn't make a difference to the noise.
thanks...

Do the panel lights go out when you engage the starter? If so the battery is probably flat - as above.
I fancy buying 4 new tyres for my Audi A3. Is it OK to buy budget tyres?
I don't do significant mileage, motorway driving , neither am I a "boy racer"....... Read more
Just goes to prove my point GB, All those TV ads and perceived premium brands do not make the product better than others. It just makes people aware of their existance in the market.
Reminds me of that program "eat well for less" as soon as they thought the product was not what they always had it suddenly tasted terrible.

One can only look at the reasoning for the ban which to me appears to be two fold.
Firstly to protect the nipper from passive smoke in a confined area....
