Hi, I recently purchased a 2003 Astra Convertable and am very pleased with the car. But the alarm occasionally activates when I start it. There was only one ignition key when I bought the car and this key sometimes came apart. So thinking that this may be the problem I had another key made, but the problem is still happening. I can unlock the car using the remote, I can turn the key in the ignition, but when I start the car, the alarm goes off. When I then take the key out of the ignition, lock and then unlock the doors, the alarm stops.
No fault code is coming up on the monitor and all old fault codes have been cancelled out. Any help would be appreciated. Read more
Hello,
I went into an approved Toyota dealership today in Liverpool and was looking at a 2011 Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 that took my fancy, apparently took in as a part ex deal. The price of this was lower than I'd seen online (£7995) for a lowish mileage (23k). I was thoroughly intrested and took the car for a test drive, which seemed fine, but did not want purchase it today but I managed to snag a picture of the front page of the V5C registration cert.... Look at the carpet in the passenger footwell, if the car has had dual controls fitted there will either be a section missing or cuts in it where it has had to be moved.
Not easy unless you're familiar with the model before hand - many car carpets have splits to allow it to fit round steering column etc at the factory.
hi i am new to this so here goes. i have a fiat scudo sx combi 1997 jtd 2004 reg. the clutch and dmf have packed in so i put it into my local garage in the hope that a solid flywheel and clutch could be fitted.i was told a solid flywheel was not avalible so told them to fit a dmf and clutch. i got a phone call back telling me that because my engine code is ...RHM/RMW the only place where i can buy a clutch kit dmf is from the fiat dealer. i need to know is this the case or is the parts ready available elsewhere and is there any way round this as the dealers price is more than the van is worth. please help borderer1964 Read more
Have you tried a Peugeot/Citroen dealer or even a PSA specialist parts supplier, as you probably know the Pug Expert/Cit Dispatch (Jumpy) are the same vehicle.
It might be the case of your mechanic getting the offending parts out so they can be cross referred and paired up....

I wouldn't think that would do any harm as its less than 5% but as an added precaution you could put a little oil in with it.
Don't add oil to the fuel, it may damage the DPF if fitted....

Its bone idleness, you have to make it more time consuming and painful to the pocket not to comply.
Problem is, for some newer cars you have to pay a professional to fix the problem. So it may be cheaper to take the chance?

Hi know this maybe late, but my father in laws 03 plate astra convertible has had the same problem for years. Following a recent cold spell the main car battery packed in. Since replacing the main battery the alarm hasnt sounded. After speaking to mechanic friend he suggested it could relate to drop in voltage from main battery no working correctly. Hope this may help others
