Can anyone advise if they know what this problem is. The Engine Auto Diagnosis light is intermittently coming on every now and again, but worse than that, today the car lost pull basically, How best to describe it.

When I bought the car it was clear that this car has original tax disk from the DVLA. It was printed from the DVLA and has the original teath all around the edge. However Police siezed my car and asked me to tax it and pay the fine of £150 to get it back
I feel that I have been stiched up..... what is my legal rights and how I get my money back? Please can someone advise me what shall I do ? many thanks ... Read more

Are AA mechanical warranties worth having, I think no it is just a glorified money pit. I have an Audi A6 bought from new and it is an 05. After te warranty ran out I took out one with the AA and paid £467 yearly. This yer was the first time I made a claim, my air con rad went so I got it replaced. I paid the £50 excess and thought I had done well as a new rad was in the region of £350 plus the labour etc.
Today I phoned them to cancel the policy as I was buying a new car and 2 years Nissan warranty was part of the deal.
The AA told me that in the small print I either had to keep on paying until the end of next July or pay for the repair whichever was cheapest. I didn't hold back telling them how disgusted I was with this but there was no way out.
Any way I ended up paying for the repair as it was the cheapest option, but it was only then that I found out they had used inferior factory repro parts in the car and not genuine Audi parts. The total bill was just around £300, that was for the parts and labour , bearing in mind they have to strip all the front down and get the old fan out and replace it. I had been quoted between £700 to £900 to get this done but they did it on the cheap.
Be very careful before going in to a deal with these people.

You need to get a diagnostic check with a hot engine to see if any fault codes present. If no codes, with someone who can interpret the live data.
can someone tell me where to stick the compressor hose to clear any iolway blockage causing the engine to tap.... cheers Read more
If you concentrate it's ok. Cameras are everywhere so it just stick to the limits and you should be ok. Thing is if you cruise down a motorway at 70mph you are likely to be one of the slowest around......some must be doing a ton.
Further to my last thread after having my car serviced I have had a quote (from a Ford Garage) to replace the rear suspension arm bushes at the cost of just over £1400.
Having had a look at the cost of bushes and assuming they aren't using gold plated ones, you can pick up a pair for £10 - £20. How do they warrant the further £1400 for fitting these bits.... Read more
Again, thanks for the quick response.
I'll speak to my local garage tomorrow and see what they say....
Just bought a 55 reg 94000 mile vehicle with all MOTs but a light history. Only intend keeping it for a few months until my new car is delivered. Apart from an oil and filter change, what should i get the garage to check or do? Read more
I'm not certain but I think the petrol engines are chain-cam, but do double-check this just in case.
If it is a belt-cam engine and there is no evidence of a cambelt change in the car's history, it's probably worth doing a cambelt service...

You need to get the fault code read that the Engine Management Light is telling you about. That will point you in the direction of the problem.
