Hi, Our Citroen Xsara Picasso, has started making a funny whiring noise when the aircon is switched on.
Its like a leaf has got into the fan and is spining round and round.... Read more
Hi, the electrics on the above have played up for sometime now. The interior lights, folding mirrors, central locking, radio, all do not work unless the ignition is on, with the exception of the radio which doesn't work at all. The other little quirky thing is, if i leave the headlights on and remove the keys, the lights don't go out and i can't unlock the door again. Anybody have any ideas, and how to fix it.? Thanks in advance. Read more
'Ere! How about this--
Chap gets out of his nice new Renault on B&Q car park. Locks it up and goes into the store. Lovely quiet engine. He didn't notice but people walking past noticed.. The engine was still running! Who (apart from the French) could design a car that'll do that? Read more
Don't think its just the French, there are quite a few cars now with keyless go that can do this...interesting when wifey drops husband off at the station and he gets on train with key...she then drive it till she stops or stalls it..thats as far as it goes.
No thanks, and i don't want a push stop/start button either (nor a stop/start VED saving system), give me a ignition key that i put in and turn to start..exactly like we've managed perfectly well with for a lifetime.
I like the convenience of checking my tyre pressures at home rather than having to go to local garage forecourts. I currently use a small inflator which plugs into my car's cigar lighter. It takes forever to inflate - probably 7 or 8 minutes a tyre to go from, say, 28 to 32 bar/psi or whatever. Is there a reasonably priced inflator that would plug into the mains and be much faster. Or maybe one that plugs into the cigar lighter slot but is stronger/faster? Read more
I have one of these (Ring Automotive compressor).

My 43k miles focus vibrates on tickover the whole car vibrates. The local ford dealer had the car in their garage for 2 days and charged me £200 for diagnostic tests and upgrades but the car was the same upon return to me.
After I complained they said there was nothing wrong but luckily for me the garage foreman agreed with me that it was vibrating so I received a full refund but the car is still vibrating and its now had a full service at 42k miles.... Read more

Hi
Grateful of some advice........ Read more
Why do you think it's necessary to undo the crankshaft bolt to replace the timing chain on this model?
I did one of those and in retrospect a ll it needed was the middle chain wheel, the two cam chain wheels, chain and tensioner. The bottom part of the system was fine....

Moved to Technical.
Just used one of these (booktheorytesttoday.com) as thought i had clicked gov site, but google on my computer always re-adjusts page as paid ads at top arrive. Was rushing and didn't even notice until I had paid i wasn't on .gov site!! paid 48.99, so a nice 17.99 admin fee to cover the costs of paying to put their google ad. at the top of the page!! Tried to cancel. They have no working tel. number and a contact form that says they endeavour to respond within 2 days!!
Sent e-mail to cancel, but not hopeful of any refund even though I sent it 10 mins after booking and they take 3 days to 'arrange' the booking.
Have e-mail confirmation of application, but not received date of test, as takes up to three 3 days for them to go on the gov. website to do it!!
Makes me sick. My wife got caught out paying for a NI number in same way. Thought she was on the gov site. Gov. should demand that public sector service sites automatically top pages (and ban co's from doing this 'service' by blocking their accounts for payment or blacklist for google to refuse to display ad.s.) People that set these up are nothing other than fraudsters. Read more
Same has happened to my son.. Is there a governing body for this.. Booktheorytesttoday was used..
I recently purchased the above with LPG conversation. The conversion turned out to be very badly installed so I have had new fitted. The garage are struggling with the ECU on both petrol and LPG. I am to,d when plugging in the diagnostics tester all is fine for a while and then the ECU zeros on all fuel related sensing whilst all other ECU values are fine. When running on petrol emissions are a challenge but it will drive as I am told the ECU continues to operated with predefined settings but as LPG works in real time it won't run. Any help gratefully received.
