Hi all,
Sorry if i miss anything out new to the forum.... Read more
I have just renewed my insurance for the year after having done the usual price comparison. I had a few quotes around the same price given on my renewal invitation so I thought that I may as well insure with my existing insurer to save the usual hassle of NCD proof.
So I go through the on-line forms only for it to pop up with an error - the length of ownership is greater than the age of the car. OK I had changed the car half way through the policy. Correct that and click update. The premium has gone up £77!... Read more
I've noticed this. I can see why length of ownership is of actuarial significance. A person who who has kept the same vehicle for over five years is less of a risk than one who changes cars frequently. The latter could be involved in 'single vehicle incidents' and simply replacing the vehicle privately each time. Or they could have an impulsive nature-again not a good sign. Or they keep breaking vehicles through neglect/misuse. In any scenario, it isn't something insurers want to see!
Hi my car was working fine one day and when I went to unlock it the next day with the remote it didn't work and the car won't start, please help, thanks Read more
Advice needed... Help .... Rx8 not starting
Recently whilst driving along all was Well when all electrics went on car, just after I had a slight smell of electrical burning. Power came back on but although all ignition lights etc illuminated the car would not start!
Had vehicle towed home - the battery was still holding a full charge no fuses blown and no visible signs of damaged or burnt wires, have been unable to resolve problem.
I think problem is to do with the immobiliser as when I try to start it the red key light on dash flashes quickly
Any ideas on how to make my car live once more?
The only fault prior to all this was the drivers door lock which wasn't locking on the remote and needed to be locked with the key. The other locks still worked on the remote oh and the coolant level light was on but that was the expansion tank sensor issue which was fixed some time ago. The battery was also replaced a few months prior to this problem. Read more
Maybe it's me, but isn't the current TV advert for the Yeti being it a bit ironic?

In that case I suggest Skoda UK havge wasted their advertising cash. Hardly anyone knows that and so the joke/whatever message is lost on the average viewer.
Skoda UK seems to be losing the plot bigtime anyway what with their pricing shooting skywards and the pretense that the current Fabia tarted up to look like a ho knickers (silly paint schemes ala mini) will attract more buyers....
